What is a chef concierge?

Chef Concierges are senior hospitality professionals responsible for assisting hotel guests with a wide range of services, such as making reservations, arranging transportation, recommending local attractions, and fulfilling special requests. They act as the main point of contact for guests who need personalized assistance during their stay. Chef Concierges often lead the concierge team and ensure high standards of guest satisfaction, drawing on their deep knowledge of the local area and established relationships with service providers. Their goal is to enhance the guest experience by anticipating needs and delivering exceptional service.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a chef concierge?

To excel as a Chef Concierge, you need in-depth knowledge of hospitality services, local attractions, and guest relations, typically supported by experience in luxury hotels and sometimes certification from organizations like Les Clefs d’Or. Familiarity with property management systems (PMS), reservation software, and CRM tools is often required. Outstanding interpersonal skills, discretion, and problem-solving abilities help you create personalized experiences and handle guest requests effectively. These combined skills are essential for delivering exceptional service, building guest loyalty, and maintaining a hotel's reputation.

What is the difference between Chef Concierge vs Hotel Concierge?

AspectChef ConciergeHotel Concierge
CredentialsExperience in hospitality, certifications in concierge services or hospitality managementExperience in customer service, hospitality, or tourism; certifications vary
Work EnvironmentLuxury hotels, resorts, private clubsHotels, resorts, cruise ships, corporate buildings
Employer & IndustryHigh-end hospitality industryBroad hospitality and travel industry
Primary FocusProviding personalized services, arranging exclusive experiencesAssisting guests with services, reservations, local info

While both roles involve guest services, a Chef Concierge specializes in curating exclusive experiences and personalized services in luxury settings, often with culinary knowledge. A Hotel Concierge provides general guest assistance, focusing on reservations and local information. The Chef Concierge role typically requires more specialized hospitality credentials and experience in luxury environments.

How does the chef concierge collaborate with other hotel departments to enhance the guest experience?

The Chef Concierge works closely with various hotel departments, such as front desk, housekeeping, and food & beverage, to ensure seamless service for guests. By communicating guest preferences, special requests, or unique itineraries, the Chef Concierge helps other teams anticipate needs and personalize experiences. This role often involves daily briefings and regular updates to coordinate logistics for VIP guests, special events, or local tours, making teamwork and clear communication essential for success.

Job description

Private Chef FT with benefits/401k, Provision Table

We are seeking a Private Chef to join our food group’s Concierge Dining Division, delivering personalized, high-quality in-home dining experiences for a select group of private clients.
This role blends restaurant-level systems with elevated in-home service, ideal for a chef who values efficiency, discretion, and consistent execution in a private setting.
You will primarily prep and cook from our central kitchen, then finish and serve meals at client residences, ensuring a seamless, refined dining experience.
How We Work
Our concierge model is built on efficiency behind the scenes and simplicity at the table.
Each service day is structured as a full cooking day—you’ll begin in our central kitchen handling prep, batch cooking, and mise en place, then transition to the client’s home to finish, plate, and serve. This allows for a streamlined workflow while maintaining a high-quality, in-home dining experience.
Roughly 90% of the work is completed in the kitchen, with final execution done onsite.
We focus on real, whole-food cooking with clear nutrition intent. Meals are clean, thoughtful, and repeatable—built on high-quality ingredients, smart prep systems, and consistent execution.
You’ll receive direct client feedback, allowing you to refine menus and continuously elevate both food and service.
What You’ll Do
Execute full service days: prep in central kitchen → finish and serve at client homes
Prepare and batch cook high-quality meals efficiently within each service day
Design weekly menus aligned with client preferences, health goals, and lifestyle
Source premium ingredients (organic, specialty, and seasonal)
Portion, label, and store meals for non-service days
Maintain clean, organized, and fully stocked environments (kitchen + homes)
Standardize pantry and kitchen systems across households
Coordinate schedules across multiple clients seamlessly
Accommodate family-style dining, children’s meals, and dietary preferences
Support occasional private dinners or small gatherings (4–10 guests)
Track preferences and continuously refine menus and service
Schedule & Structure
Flexible structure (part-time or full-time depending on fit)
Service-based schedule (each workday = full prep + service flow)
Work may be shared across multiple households
Based in the Peninsula (general area)
Compensation
Hourly or salary options depending on schedule and experience
Competitive pay based on experience
Groceries and approved expenses fully reimbursed
What You’ll Need
3–5+ years of professional kitchen experience
Private chef or high-end hospitality experience preferred
Strong organization and systems mindset
Understanding of nutrition and ingredient quality
Ability to work independently across multiple locations
Professional, discreet, and service-oriented presence
Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
Ability to pass a background check
Ideal Profile
Comfortable with Asian and Western cuisines
Experience with family-style + health-focused cooking
Efficient with batch prep and structured workflows
Detail-oriented with a strong sense of hospitality
Interested in growing within a concierge-style food service platform
