Position Purpose:
    • Review Medical Record chart, including nursing notes, physician orders, progress notes, and surgical or specialty notes thoroughly to interpret and validate and/or extract all charges.
    • Competent with coding ICD10 and CPT. Resolve clinical documentation and charge capture discrepancies, providing feedback to providers on the quality of their documentation.
    • Perform validation of potential missing charges, coding variances and overcharges
    • Conducts thorough review of medical records and utilizes coding resources to ensure that clinical documentation supports all billed charges.
    • Communicates effectively with team, compliance, departments and clinical staff.

General Job Requirements
    • Health Information Management or a related field required.
    • Minimum of 1 year of relevant work in healthcare.
    • Successful completion of a Coding Specialist program with eligibility to sit for credentials examination
    • Familiar with revenue cycle operations and/or clinical operations, is preferred.
