Job description

Job Summary:   The Charge Capture Specialist is responsible for ensuring that all billing charges are captured in an appropriate manner. Identifies, analyzes and reconciles billing errors or omissions, this includes rreviewing and posting of Professional Charge.

Responsibilities:

  • Posts all charge batches received each day that do not require additional follow-up with the providers.
  • Returns incomplete charge to department for correction.
  • Assist as needed in reconciliation of all charges, daily, and weekly as required.
  • Assist with the monitoring of practice charge submission status to ensure timely posting of charges.
  • Processes Mobile charges and post to system once reviewed for completeness.
  • Maintains patient confidentiality by adhering to all HIPAA guidelines.
  • Display positive attitude and constructively contribute to the billing team.
  • Perform other tasks as assigned.

Qualifications/Requirements:

Experience: Minimum of 2 years of professional billing experience, preferred.

Education:      High School diploma or equivalent, required.  College degree, preferred.
