Job description

TITLE: Payroll Administrator
LOCATION: New Jersey
JOB SUMMARY:
This position is responsible for verification, preparation, and/or input of information into the Ceridian Dayforce system for weekly and bi-weekly payrolls.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
  • Verifies master file changes such as new hires, terminations, salary changes, etc. that are fed into Ceridian Dayforce payroll system.
  • Reviews calculated timesheets to identify errors and inputs quick entries as necessary.
  • Problem resolution of employee payroll-related issues.
  • Process union payments such as Health & Welfare and Pension on a weekly and monthly basis.
  • Assists managers and employees with timesheet and Time Away From Work questions.
  • Special projects as directed by the Payroll Manager.
ADDITIONAL FUNCTIONS:
  • Supports and exhibits behavior consistent with the sales and service philosophy of Client X.
  • Acts with diplomacy as a representative of the Accounting Department.
  • Performs other related duties as required.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Three to five years of payroll experience required.
  • Experience with Ceridian Dayforce.
  • Union experience preferable.
  • Intermediate skills with Windows software such as Word, Excel, etc. is required.
  • Needs to be familiar with general ledger.
  • Must have highly developed customer service and communication skills; written and oral. Must be able to interact with all levels of organization..
  • Must maintain a calm and professional demeanor.
  • Must be able to work independently with some supervision.
  • Must be able to maintain highly confidential data.
