Chef de Cuisine (CDC) Rochester Hills, MI
Position Overview:
We are seeking an accomplished Chef de Cuisine to lead the culinary operations of our Michelin-starred focused restaurant in Rochester Hills, Michigan This is an opportunity for a leader who values structure and systems as much as creativity, driving precise execution alongside our Executive Chef and a very talented Culinary Team. We require a proven track record of sustaining the highest standards of culinary execution and staff mentorship.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Menu Development: Collaborate closely with Executive Chef to design, refine, and document seasonal, Michelin-caliber tasting menus.
  • Execution & Quality Control: Manage daily kitchen operations, conduct rigorous line checks, and expedite service to ensure every dish perfectly meets our standards.
  • Systems & Standards: Enforce rigorous adherence to standard operating procedures (SOPs), HACCP/hygiene guidelines, and exact portioning.
  • Team Leadership: Train, mentor, and build a cohesive, highly disciplined BOH team. Foster a kitchen culture centered on respect, accountability, and continuous improvement.
  • Financial Stewardship: Manage food costs, inventory control, and operational budgets. [1, 2, 3, 4]
Qualifications:
  • Minimum of 5 years of fine-dining or Michelin-recognized kitchen experience in a leadership role (CDC or Executive Sous Chef).
  • Exceptional command of classical and modern culinary techniques.
  • Deep respect for mise en place discipline and systems-driven organization.
  • Calm, focused leadership style that thrives under pressure.
  • Ability to articulate the restaurant's culinary vision to both back-of-house and front-of-house teams. [1, 2]
