Description
Saint Mary Star of the Sea Catholic School, in Hampton, is seeking an Elementary Teacher.
The Elementary Teacher (K-5) is responsible for supporting student success by planning, preparing, and delivering lesson plans using instructional materials that facilitate active learning. The teacher will also develop schemes of work and assessments that align with the Consensus Curriculum and school expectations and instruct and monitor students in the use of learning materials and equipment. The successful candidate must be an enthusiastic role model who is passionate about sharing the Catholic faith and supporting the mission of Saint Mary Star of the Sea Catholic School including the ability to guide student development and formation per the school's mission and vision with compassion, understanding and respect.
Requirements
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Bachelor's Degree and current Commonwealth of Virginia Teaching License
  • Possess a strong commitment to Catholic education
  • Superior communication skills both written and spoken, superior interpersonal, organizational, and managerial skills, enthusiasm, positive attitude, flexibility, and hardworking
  • Collaborative team player

WORKING CONDITIONS:
This is a full time, 10 month position
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Light physical effort required. Regularly required to sit or stand for extended periods, walk, reach, bend, lift, listen, talk and perform computer key boarding.
