Job description

Catering Lead Event Chef / Production

Creations in Cuisine Catering / PASTA REA is a full-service catering company, and we are preparing for the start of another exciting event season! Our selected Chef must be passionate about all things, food and catering with extensive experience in catering, banquets and event service. Please have proven leadership abilities and culinary creativity with an ability to work independently and with a team with an emphasis on consistency, taste, and presentation regardless of quantity

Please be prepared to perform a stage shift from 8:00 – 1:00, working closely with the existing culinary team. During that time, we will evaluate your catering knowledge, performance, overall culinary skills, efficiency and accuracy. Based on your performance you may or may not be invited to an additional interview with the Director of Culinary.

Responsibilities

Our Catering Chef will manage daily execution of all event production for multiple events, casual or elegant ranging from weddings, corporate functions and social celebrations while ensuring that all aspects of the kitchen and the performance of the culinary team are functioning in the most cost effective and efficient manner. This is a working chef position both in our commissary and on site offering a full-time work schedule. Be prepared to work as a team with catering sales, owners, service staff, warehouse personnel, event design. Your responsibilities will include but will not be limited to the following.

Responsibilities

Our Catering Event Chefs act as our company ambassadors and spokesperson on each event whether casual or elegant. You are responsible for ensuring the culinary experience is executed flawlessly from start to finish.

·         You will be responsible for assisting in BEO production for all events in the commissary as business levels dictate, including staging, loading and transport.

  • On site you will execute the finale preparation of all food items for small, medium, or large events meeting our standards and presentation quality as specified. Assist with setting up and breakdown of a temporary field kitchen for efficiency in various catering scenarios such as plated dinners, buffets, action stations and tray passed hors d’oeuvres.
  • Ability to work alone or with culinary management team and or manage on site culinary team from 1-25
  • Must be able to work well with FOH staff and event service Captains and Sales team.
  • Always maintain a professional appearance, a pleasant and professional attitude with guests and other staff members.

Qualifications:

Skills and Qualifications

·         2+ years of service experience as a lead in offsite Catering or banquet service in a Hotel, Resort or other food service establishments

·         1+ years of management and leadership experience

·         Physically able to lift 50+ lbs.

·         Ability to multitask with effective communication and organizational skills while on your own or while working or managing a crew of 1-25

·         Ability to work well and in a professional manner under pressure in all types of circumstances while understanding and enforcing CICC culinary standards with zero disruption to the flow of the event

·         Must be knowledgeable in all the fundamentals of cooking, to include sauces, stocks, all cooking technics and procedures as well as proper cooking and holding temperatures.

·         Exceptional cleanliness and sanitation practices.

  • Flexibility with daily tasks – We are a high-volume custom catering company. Our menus change frequently, and we need someone who is adaptable and quick to learn.

 

 

Work location and Schedule:

Creations in Cuisine Catering’s corporate office and commissary is in the north valley at 1825 W Crest Lane Phoenix Arizona 85027. All events originate at this location. However, Event locations may take place valley wide, in southern or northern Arizona at event venues, private homes and businesses.

·         Shifts are scheduled at least 1 week prior or up to 1 month prior depending on booking dates

·         Expect event Chef shifts to average 5-8 hours and production days from 8 – 10 hours

·         Expect to work or manage events that occur in the early mornings, afternoons, evenings, nights and weekends

·         Some holidays, dictated by business levels

·         Willing to travel throughout the valley, southern and northern Arizona

Compensation and Benefits:

Creations in Cuisine Catering offers a competitive and generous compensation package with an understanding that all staff members deserve the need to maintain the perfect work-life balance.

·         Event Chef’s will be compensated at an hourly rate (depending on experience) for production work and an hourly rate with added gratuity when on site for event execution.

·         Paid travel time for events with travel distance greater than 1 hour travel time from our commissary location.
