Job description

  • Title: Cash Applications Analyst (Contract-to-Hire)
  • Pay: $25.00/hour (overtime eligible)
  • Location: Charlotte, NC (fully onsite near SouthPark)
  • Schedule: Flexible start time between 7:00 AM and 9:00 AM with an 8-hour workday
  • Dress Code: Business casual
  • Benefits: This position is eligible for medical, dental, vision and 401(k).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Process high-volume cash receipts from lockboxes, credit card processors, and other payment sources
  • Perform daily bank and account reconciliations
  • Post cash receipts into the accounting system accurately and timely
  • Research and resolve unapplied, misapplied, or unidentified payments
  • Audit historical cash activity and assist with clearing payment backlogs
  • Work closely with the collections team to resolve discrepancies

Required Qualifications:

  • 2+ years of cash applications or accounts receivable experience
  • Strong bank reconciliation experience
  • Experience processing high-volume payments
  • Hands-on experience with lockboxes, payment processors, and customer payment databases
  • Advanced Excel skills, including Pivot Tables and VLOOKUPs
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
  • Professional, reliable, and able to work independently in a fast-paced environment

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Associate's degree (high school diploma required)
  • Experience working in a service-based industry
  • Familiarity with banking and payment portals
