FLSA EXEMPTION STATUS: POSITION LOCATION:  3103 McKinney Street Houston, TX 77003 STATUS: Full Time Position JOB FAMILY Direct Client Services JOB SUMMARY Case Worker:  is highly interactive and deals directly with victims helping abused individuals cope with change, challenges, and unsafe environments in their lives along with case management, crisis intervention, service referral, and educational functions.
Keep TCCC Resolve director involved with cases and consult as needed.
Work Schedule: Monday Friday 8:00 am 5:00 pm, could possibly work evenings and weekends as needed.



EDUCATION Bachelor's degree (preferred) in Criminal Justice, Victim Studies, Sociology, Psychology, or related field.
Experience working in related field as substitution will be evaluated on individual basis.
QUALIFICATIONS Bachelor's degree (preferred). A clean driving record for three years and a successful completion of TCCC background check process (fingerprinting, Statewide Central Registry, etc.). Bilingual in English and Spanish (preferred) Experience working with victims of crime and abuse. Should have strong interpersonal communication skills, both verbal and written, able to deal with emotional aspects of working with victims of crime. Listen, communicate, and work effectively with a diverse group of people. Knowledge of community resources for victims of crimes. Proficiency in basic computer skills including Word, Excel, and Outlook. MAJOR DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES Case worker will provide direct client services including, but not limited to: emergency and crisis focused case management, rapport building, client intake and eligibility determination, evaluate data for individual client progress, develop individualized service planning in response to assessments, identify and coordinate appropriate services (inside and outside of the agency), provide client advocacy, complete case monitoring, and provide routine aftercare services.   Case worker will coordinate with other agencies to ensure appropriate services are obtained for clients. The case worker will be a liaison between client and other agencies. The caseworker will staff cases with director, and professional service providers.   Case worker will collaborate with social services agencies that assist victims of crimes such as Houston Area Women's Center, local shelters, legal aid service providers, HHSC and others as part of a holistic approach to service provision.   Monitor clients' progress to ensure that their goals and objectives are met, particularly those related to VOCA program requirements.   Reports to Director as required by state standards, and is responsible for caseworker planning, intake assessments, admissions, permanency plans and record keeping of clients/families of TCCC and families. Write case notes and maintain client files and documentation.
