Job Description:

The opportunity:

  • In this position, you will be a member of the Group Benefits Claims Shared Services team working on short term disability claims, with a specific focus on claim setup.
  • This position will primarily be a production role, requiring the ability to regularly manage a high volume of tasks, adjust priorities when necessary based on the impact to our clients and effectively manage time.
  • The primary objectives of this position will be to:
    • Review new and existing claim documentation, create claim files, and follow up for missing information.
  • Provide support to Case Managers by completing a variety of administrative tasks surrounding the adjudication of claims.

How you will contribute:

  • Review new Short Term Disability (STD) documents
  • Manages the special handling policies
  • Participate in department initiatives and projects as needed
  • Provide support to other teams in Shared Services
  • Serve as an SME for new hires
  • Set up new STD claims in Ultera, CHESS and GCS claim systems.
  • Participate in training other team members as needed
  • Provide input and recommendations and analysis to Management on business process

What you will bring with you:

  • Proficiency with Windows and Microsoft applications (MS Excel, MS Word)
  • Good communication (oral and written) skills
  • Excellenttime management skill is required
  • Ability to work in a fast paced, high volume and deadline driven environment
  • Bachelor's Degree, preferred
  • Ability to work with a diverse range of people
  • Ability to work and solve problems independently
  • Must have a strong working knowledge of systems applications, and be comfortable using computers
  • Should be results oriented, be able learn quickly and make sound decisions after appropriate training
  • Ability to work independently or part of a team

Salary Range: $38,600 - $52,100
