PROGRAM MANAGER  

THE ROLE: 

We are in search of an experienced program manager with strong analytical, problem-solving and risk management skills. Ability to work efficiently and manage effective relationships in a cross-functional organization to meet commitments for successful customer program launches. Must be self-directed and work in complex and dynamic ecosystems. 

THE PERSON: 

As a Program Manager, your involvement will be substantial within AMD’s extended supply chain as the Substrate Capacity and Cost Analyst to support analytics for substrate supplier forecasting, expansion project costing and allocation requirements.  Initial focus will be centered on supplier’s committed supply and the distribution of demand across the supplier network.  Possess the sense of urgency to proactively implement creative but effective solutions with agility to timely deliver above and beyond expectations, especially on cross functional related issues. 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • This person would be responsible for developing modeling tools and communicating results for substrate capacity expansion scenarios and cost impacts. There will be near term considerations (less than 18 months) as well as extended views (up to 5 years) to support the Strategy team for capacity analytics and scenario planning for growing AMD units and supplier base.
  • Possesses a thorough knowledge of the principles ofproject management and can apply them effectively on small to large size projects 
  • In addition, you will be creating management reports, working with the Business Units teams on priority setting, and working with engineering and suppliers on expected product output, yield targets and qual requests to improve supply.
  • Your attention to detail and dedication to meet planning goals will be essential in this team.
  • The Global Operations team is constantly driving process improvement. You will provide suggestions to improve substrate capacity footprint, including tools and reports. We, as a team, aspire to move the needle and make a difference.
  • Identify action or mitigation plans for issues or risks that arise during the project lifecycle 
  • Collaborates with extended teams and execution teams to identify areas that require special attention or escalations to identify corrective actions 

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE: 

  • Experience in the semiconductor substrate field
  • Detailed oriented, self-driven with a strong sense of pride and ownership. 
  • Strong organizational, problem-solving, interpersonal, presentation, written and verbal communication skills 
  • Ability to build relationships and work effectively as a self-starter and as part of a team 
  • Proactively involve team members in planning, decision-making and execution efforts 
  • Horizontal leadership/Matrix management experience 
  • Collaborate in problem solving and mitigating risks with Engineering, Program/Project Management, Business Units and Product Management - both internal and external 
  • Good communication, problem-solving, collaboration, interpersonal, and quantitative skills
  • Proficiency in using standard analytics tools (MS Office, MS Excel, MS Power BI, etc.)

ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS: 

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Industrial Engineering, supply chain management, business, or a related field
