We are currently seeking a Manager, Business Development - Geosystems (Remote) to join our team, based out of Appleton, WI. In this role, you'll play a key part in driving growth and expand our capabilities across geospatial solutions-helping shape the future of how we operate and compete.

Responsibilities

Your Role:

The Business Development Manager is responsible for the development and execution of profitable sales and marketing programs for Geosystems within the assigned markets. In addition, the BDM is accountable for managing several sales distributors, direct accounts, outside agencies as well as interfacing with various resources within the organization and successfully managing all forecasting and budgetary needs for said region in order to achieve annual sales and profitability targets of Geosystems Sales.   • Manage the planning, execution and roll-up for all sales programs for assigned regions.
  • Development and implementation of annual business plans, contingencies and the recommendation of on-going modifications to achieve the approved volume, share, spending and profit objectives of the business.
  • Assist in preparing strategic plans and contingencies for management review and approval to guide long-term business planning/development.
  • Manage programs productively through internal and external groups to ensure sound execution of all programs and appropriate financial management.
  • Analyze (and supervise the analysis of) the business (including market research) on a continuous basis to ensure plans/programs are appropriate to evolving business needs and recommend strategic/tactical changes as appropriate.
  • Work with advertising/market research agency for international media and trade shows and publications.
  • Find and establish long term work relationships with qualified sales agents/distributors in countries where selling isn't prudent.
  • Maintain continuous contact with Distributors and Trade to ensure smooth program execution, adjust programs to changing market needs and be viewed as a Thought Leader within customer network.
  • Identify and initiate business building, cost savings and new product improvement opportunities and manage the activities necessary for implementation in the field.
  • Develop opportunities through full sales cycle including negotiation of pricing and terms.

Qualifications

We need you to have:

  • BA/BS degree in Business, Engineering, Environmental Sciences, Consulting, Stormwater or Erosion Control  or related field.
  • 5+ years of related professional and progressive Sales experience, particularly with geosynthetics or construction industries.
  • Must be able to network with international contacts and generate leads from established resources.
  • Proficient in MS Office.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including presentation skills and the ability to communicate and influence at all levels within the organization.
  • Self-directed with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple accountabilities and multiple internal customers.
  • Demonstrated skills in problem solving and negotiation.
  • Strong analytical skills as well as organizational skills with high attention to detail.
  • Ability to translate business objectives into tactical actions and make sound business decisions under time pressure.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule during key business deadlines.
  • Ability to lift/move up to 80lbs.
  • Ability to walk through construction sites and handle materials during installation setup. 
  • Must have a valid driver's license and the ability to operate a motor vehicle.
  • Must be team oriented with the ability to work on high collaboration and performance teams.
  • Must be able to travel up to 50%

Icing on the cake:

  • MBA or other advanced degree a plus.
  • Prior experience as a design engineer with sales experience.
