Responsibilities

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Familiar with BICSI rules, regulations, and standards.
  • Knowledge in the use of network cabling test equipment including network testers, copper cable testers, fiber OTDRs and fiber power meters.
  • Analyze, administer, and maintain telecommunications and network cabling infrastructure.
  • Ensure the baseline configuration of all network assets and point-to-point circuits, are documented, and configured according to DoD and JSP engineering standards.
  • Ensure all systems are properly baselined, tested, and validated in accordance with DISA’s STIG prior to deployment.
  • Conduct regular audits and quality checks to ensure accuracy and completeness of network assets and configurations.
  • Use cable testing equipment, such as cable testers, multimeters, and optical power meters.
  • Familiarity with cable management techniques to ensure neat and organized cable runs.
  • Provide a basic understanding of IP networking concepts, including TCP/IP, subnetting, and VLANs.
  • Ability to work at heights and in confined spaces, adhering to safety protocols at all times.
  • Analyze, administer, and maintain telecommunications and network cabling infrastructure.
  • Dress, terminate, and test cables and components.
  • Ability to work with power tools and ladders.
  • Test, locate, install, and repair cabling infrastructure associated with trouble calls, and perform routine maintenance.
  • Install, maintain, and repair voice and data communications systems.
  • Identify, track, and remove abandoned cable, and keep cable neatly tied and bundled while maintaining safety standards.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience:
    • 2-4 Years Experience
  • Certifications:
    • Data Cabling Installer (DCI) certification
    • Fiber Optics Installer (FOIC) certification
  • Clearance: Must possess Secret clearance
