Job description

The Business Analyst role will have a direct influence on designing business processes and solutions to support business groups for platforms used by thousands of sales associates across the United States, which will ultimately help ensure millions of patients will have access to our life saving products. The Business Analyst has experience contributing business analysis, design, and test activities to a large scale/global business change or delivering small scale business change alone. The Business Analyst operates with interactive communication, demonstrating inclusion and cultural sensitivity.
The role will partner with the Capability Lead, Business Partner, or other Business Analyst colleagues to support the development of cases, assist in business process design, and ensure that proposed solutions meet established AstraZeneca quality and compliance standards and business solution needs. The Business Analyst will be interacting and working with commercial colleagues and customers directly to support and influence solutions to meet business needs.
The Business Analyst is expected to perform at capable level in the following:
  • Business Needs Identification - Candidates can drive an assessment of business need and areas for improvement. Candidates proactively seek opportunities to enhance and improve in line with strategic goals, proposing potential solutions through research.
  • Business Analysis Planning - Candidates are capable in characterizing a solution or initiative's complexity, risks, known assumptions, constraints, and dependencies. Candidates are proficient in prioritization and recommending appropriate approaches. Candidates are capable of planning, sequencing, and coordinating activities to meet work and deadlines.
  • Customer Analysis & Change - Candidates effectively identify customers and maintain relationships according to individual customer needs and levels of influence. Candidates can compile communication and transition plans for projects and team members.
  • Requirements Analysis and Design Definition - Candidates can coordinate/develop requirement plans including user story sessions, approvals, RAID and scope impacts. Candidates are skilled in traceability, testing and validation. Candidates can collaborate with business colleagues to identify functional and technical requirements. Candidates partner the architecture team to ensure the technical solution will deliver the agreed business benefits.
  • Case and Benefits Management - Candidates can coordinate/support case definition and capture investment business justification including value and benefits realization plans.
  • Solution Evaluation - Candidates assess solution proposals and articulate supporting arguments for a recommended solution. Candidates work multi-functionally with other IT roles to develop/maintain business relationships, support business process change and act as point of contact for application development. Candidates work with business colleagues to identify business requirements and effectively communicate the impact, cost, and benefits of new or changed solutions. Candidates facilitate user acceptance testing. Candidates support process owners to identify and devise solutions that optimize business process performance, capability, and competitiveness.
  • IT Delivery - Candidates collaborate with IT architecture, delivery, and support/operations to ensure clear understanding of all requirements and effective testing. so that the solutions delivered to the business are efficient and effective, meeting the customer experience expectations.

Candidates work multi-functionally with or take responsibility for the following roles:
  • Project Managers/Scrum Lead - Candidates can work closely with this role to set the right expectations on timeline for business solution delivery. Candidates will ensure risks are tracked and communicated effectively with the correct customer group.
  • Test Lead - Candidates can define the testing approach and the components of testing to ensure traceability of requirements and effectiveness of overall solution.
  • Organizational Change/Communications Lead - Candidates can ensure the Organizational Change and Communications plans according to the Customer Analysis
  • Business Partners/BRM - Candidates will work closely and support business partners/BRMs to evaluate, design and communicate business process changes, business solution options and considerations to customer groups.

Education, Experience, Skills, and Capabilities
Essential:
  • A minimum of five years of relevant experience, including demonstrated work as a Business Analyst or Senior Business Analyst.

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Experience of using current business analysis tools and techniques to design and deliver business change.
  • Strong engagement, communication and facilitation skills including storyboarding, presentation and influencing skills
