The Business Office Assistant supports the daily operations of the business office, including billing assistance, accounts receivable follow-up, insurance verification, resident trust accounts, and clerical support. This role requires strong attention to detail, organization, and excellent customer service skills.
Reporting: This position reports directly to the Business Office Manager (BOM).


Key Responsibilities

Verify insurance coverage (Medicare, Medicaid, Managed Care, Private Pay)
Assist with billing preparation and claims follow-up
Maintain resident trust accounts and financial records
Support accounts receivable and collections processes
Communicate with residents and families regarding statements and billing questions
Assist with admissions paperwork and financial documentation
Maintain accurate filing and documentation in EMR and accounting systems
Ensure compliance with HIPAA and financial policies
Provide general administrative support to the Business Office Manager

Education
High School Diploma or equivalent required

Experience
At least 1 year of business office, billing, or accounts receivable experience preferred
Skilled nursing or healthcare experience preferred

Qualifications & Skills
Knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid, and insurance billing processes
Strong organizational and time management skills
Proficient in computer systems and accounting software
Excellent communication and customer service skills
