Job description

OVERVIEW
The Business Development Manager is responsible for increasing and maintaining Left Lane Auto's residential fleet business. This role owns the full-cycle business partnership — from identifying leads and closing new business, to managing relationships with existing customers — and serves as the primary point of contact our fleet customers turn to with any need.
This is not a reactive, in-office position. It is a "boots on the ground" outside sales role. The ideal candidate does not simply follow up on leads — they build genuine partnerships with the communities and stores they support and develop proactive business growth strategies. Our Business Development Manager also plays a critical role in staying ahead of the competitive landscape.
What You’ll Be Doing:
Grow New Business
  • Hunt for new fleet accounts — local and national — through cold outreach, community involvement, and industry events.
  • Build a solid pipeline and connect with the right decision-makers, presenting Left Lane Auto's value in a way that actually resonates
  • Stay on top of new business openings and market activity in your territory and turn that awareness into actio
  • Take Care of Current Clients
  • Be the go-to person for your fleet clients — check in regularly, get ahead of issues, and always be adding value.
  • Keep relationships strong by staying consistent and proactive, not just reactive.
  • Own billing and service concerns quickly, working alongside store teams to make things right.
Partner with Stores amp; Stay Competitive
  • Collaborate with store teams to develop leads and drive local growth.
  • Keep a close eye on the competitive landscape and bring smart recommendations to the table.
  • Report regularly to leadership on activity, progress, and performance.
Who You Are:
You're commercially sharp, confident, and genuinely enjoy building relationships. You take ownership, move fast, and know how to tailor your pitch to any audience. You're adaptable, accountable, and motivated by results — not just activity.
What You’ll Bring With You:
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Sales, Marketing, or related field (preferred).
  • 5–7+ years of outside sales experience with a solid new business track record.
  • Experience in the retail tire or automotive repair industry is required; BDM experience is a big plus.
  • Comfortable working with large national and local accounts.
  • Strong closing skills, data fluency, and proficiency in Microsoft Office or Google Workspace.
What You’ll Get in Return:
If you produce, you earn.
  • Above-market weekly base salary
  • Aggressive performance bonus structure/Incentives
  • Full benefits package including health insurance, PTO, and 401(k) with company match
  • A high-performance, growth-focused culture
WHERE YOU’LL BE WORKING
  • This is a field-based role with regular travel between store locations; some overnight travel may be required.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation required.
  • Travel estimated at up to 75% of working time, with occasional overnight travel.
  • Must be able to work in active shop environments (moderate noise, occasional lifting up to 25 lbs).
  • Reasonable accommodations available for individuals with disabilities.
