Business Development Representative

Morrisville, NC • Hybrid

PlayMetrics
Software Development • 11 - 50 employees

Full-time

Medical, Dental, Vision, Retirement, PTO

Re-posted 15 days ago

Job description

PlayMetrics is a fast growing B2B SaaS company revolutionizing the way youth sports organizations operate. Our industry-leading platform is trusted by thousands of clubs, leagues, and governing bodies to manage operations, communication, scheduling, and player development, all in one place.

We're looking for a driven and ambitious Business Development Representative to join our growing team and help bring that mission to more clubs, leagues, and governing bodies across the country. As a BDR, you'll be the first voice of PlayMetrics for prospective customers. You'll drive conversations, qualify opportunities, and build the pipeline that fuels our Account Executives.

This is an ideal launchpad for someone eager to build a career in B2B SaaS sales, with real mentorship, a clear path for advancement, and the satisfaction of selling a product that genuinely makes a difference for youth athletes and the organizations that serve them.

Note: This is a full-time position, and we are looking for a local candidate to work in the office at our Morrisville, NC headquarters, currently hybrid work-from-home three days per week, but subject to the Company's needs and policies in the future.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Outbound Prospecting: Research and identify clubs, leagues, tournaments, state associations, and governing bodies that are ready to ditch the chaos of disconnected tools. Ignite those conversations through targeted cold calls, personalized email campaigns, and LinkedIn outreach.

  • Inbound Lead Follow-up: Engage and qualify marketing-generated leads with speed and purpose, helping organizations discover how PlayMetrics can become their single source of truth.

  • Qualification: Evaluate prospects through a consultative lens by understanding their current operational pain points, decision-making process, and readiness to transform how they run their organization with PlayMetrics.

  • Appointment Setting: Bridge the gap between curiosity and commitment by scheduling discovery calls and product demos for Account Executives, giving prospects their first real look at what modern youth sports management can look like.

  • CRM Management: Keep all prospect interactions, account data, and pipeline activity meticulously up to date in HubSpot because great sales teams run on clean data.

  • Value Communication: Confidently articulate how PlayMetrics replaces the patchwork of spreadsheets and legacy tools with one powerful, purpose-built platform and handle objections with insight and authenticity.

  • Collaboration: Partner closely with Sales and Marketing to sharpen messaging, tighten targeting, and continuously improve how we reach the youth sports leaders who need PlayMetrics most.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience: 1-3 years in sales, business development, or a customer-facing role. SaaS or sports industry experience is a genuine advantage, but hunger and coachability matter more than a perfect resume.

  • Communication: A natural communicator who can craft a compelling cold email, hold their own on a discovery call, and clearly convey why PlayMetrics is the best-in-class platform for youth sports organizations.

  • Resilience: You thrive on the challenge of the hunt. Rejection doesn't derail you, it sharpens you. You bring energy and optimism to every outreach, knowing that the right conversation can transform how an entire organization operates.

  • Technology Proficiency: Comfortable working within CRM platforms like Salesforce or HubSpot, and familiar with sales engagement tools such as LinkedIn Sales Navigator, Outreach, or Salesloft.

  • Organization: A disciplined self-starter who can manage a full slate of high volume, daily outreach activity without losing sight of quality.

Qualified Applicants:

  • Will be at least 18 years of age

  • Will have a minimum of bachelor's degree in Marketing or related field

  • Can read, write, and fluently speak and understand English

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

  • Are confident using technology and navigating technology applications

  • Will be legally authorized to work in the US for any employer in the US.

  • We cannot consider candidates who require sponsorship for a work-authorized visa.

PlayMetrics will provide:

  • Competitive pay

  • Competitive benefits, including comprehensive medical, dental, and vision plans for you and your dependents which are 100% company paid, 401(k) with employer match, and company paid group and disability insurance

  • Paid Time Off

  • Casual dress work environment

  • Central office location in RTP
