SUMMARY 

The Business Development Manager is responsible for achieving sales growth targets and executing strategic priorities while driving collaboration within the Canadian organization. 

Maintaining existing or onboarded complex accounts aligned with DSV's Sales Process; achieving sales plan objectives with the assigned clients, new targets, and complex client prospects by selling DSV's products and solutions; ensuring alignment across functional areas (Product, Sales, Operations) throughout all phases of the sales cycle. Responsibility to drive end-to-end and value-added solutions with sizeable potential

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

   Identifies new business opportunities through contact with prospective clients in the assigned market and for cross selling new services to existing clients.
   Identifies market trends and competitive rate actions and communicates those trends to the product and management teams
   Exercises proactive solution development by creating and maintaining a client lifecycle program for his/her top clients.
   Builds a solid understanding of target customers/assigned account base (contact, commodities/ trade lanes, type of business, contract information/exceptions, and service requirements)
   Assists and facilitates in the preparation of RFQ's, bids and Understands pricing and cost components associated with proposed solutions
   Identifies the competitive service strengths and weaknesses of the company and makes recommendations for continuous improvement initiatives
   Provides weekly and monthly performance metrics to the sales administrator
   Performs for other duties including sales presentations, developing deliverables, coordinating implementation, creating and adding to existing marketing materials where appropriate
   Enters new customer data and other sales data for clients into CRM and maintains this information per DSV company policy
   Meets specific volume and revenue requirements for each product in the portfolio as designated by the General Manager, Sales
   Manages time and sales territory to be able to reach the desired number of sales calls, weekly basis ensuring maximum exposure to the market
   Ensures effective and timely responses to all sales leads/key correspondence within identified timelines
   Manages expenses and other company assets in accordance with DSV corporate guidelines
   Performs other duties as assigned by management

   Ensure full adherence to DSV Global Sales Process

   Perform assigned tasks to support DSV meets its objectives and targets regarding quality, health, safety and environment and follow all requirements as set out in the DSV Quality Health Safety Environment policy.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education and Experience

   Education in supply chain logistics, international transportation, or a related field of study or equivalent work experience
   Minimum 5 years of industry experience 
   Minimum 2 years of account management experience
   CIFFA certificate, an asset
