Job description

Position Overview:

The Business Analyst/Project Manager (BA/PM) is responsible for leading projects from initiation through implementation while serving as the liaison between business stakeholders and technical teams. This role combines business analysis and project management functions by gathering and documenting requirements, analyzing business processes, managing project scope, schedule, and budget, and ensuring successful delivery of business solutions that meet organizational objectives. The person in this position upholds, defends, coaches and mentors sound agile practices and values. They are responsible for guiding the development/sustainment of an agile team into a self-organized, effective, development/sustainment unit with a sustainable cadence.

Job Duties:

Business Analysis

  • Partner with stakeholders to identify business needs, opportunities, and challenges.
  • Elicit, analyze, document, and validate business and functional requirements.
  • Translate business requirements into detailed specifications for technical teams.
  • Conduct process mapping, workflow analysis, and gap analysis.
  • Facilitate stakeholder meetings, workshops, and requirements-gathering sessions.
  • Develop business cases, user stories, use cases, and process documentation.
  • Support solution design, testing, and user acceptance activities.
  • Ensure delivered solutions align with business objectives and operational needs.
  • Responsible for establishing minimum viable product, grooming the backlog and Change Management.
  • Must be knowledgeable and/or experience with widely successful Waterfall and Agile techniques: User Stories, ATDD, TDD, Continuous Integration, Continuous Testing, Pairing, and Automated Testing

Project Management

  • Lead projects through all phases of the project lifecycle, including initiation, planning, execution, monitoring, and closure.
  • Develop and maintain project plans, schedules, budgets, and resource allocations.
  • Manage project scope, timelines, risks, issues, and dependencies.
  • Coordinate cross-functional teams to achieve project goals and deliverables.
  • Provide regular project status updates to leadership and stakeholders.
  • Facilitate project meetings and ensure timely follow-up on action items.
  • Monitor project performance and implement corrective actions when necessary.
  • Manage change requests and assess impact on scope, schedule, and budget.
  • Ensure project deliverables meet quality standards and business expectations.

Stakeholder Management

  • Serve as the primary point of contact between business units, technical teams, vendors, and leadership.
  • Build strong relationships with stakeholders to ensure alignment and engagement.
  • Communicate project progress, risks, and recommendations effectively.
  • Support organizational change management and user adoption efforts.

Job Requirements:

  • Educational requirements include BA/BS from an accredited college or university with a minimum of 5+ years' experience or substitute with AA/AS with 7+ years' experience or substitute with 9 years+ experience with Project Management.
  • Four years' experience eliciting and documenting user requirements.
  • Experience with Microsoft 0365, Microsoft Project and GitLab.
  • Excellent listening, interpersonal, written, and oral communication skill
  • Logical and efficient, with keen attention to detail
  • Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks while under pressure
  • Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment
  • Must be experienced with project planning and facilitating the complete life cycle of projects with competing availability, priorities, and multiple stakeholders

Required Qualifications:

  • Require anyone of the following IAT Level II (CCNA Security, CSA+, GICSP, GSEC, Security+ CE, or SSCP) Certification to start.
  • Scrum Master Certification (CSM, PSM) required to start
  • Product Owner Certification required to start
