Job description

Position Overview:


We are seeking a detail-oriented Estimator to join our team in Portland. This role will be responsible for performing accurate takeoffs and providing clear, competitive estimates for lumber and exterior building products. The ideal candidate will be comfortable working from construction plans, collaborating with sales teams and customers, and utilizing technology to streamline the estimating process.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform material takeoffs for multifamily projects, including lumber, panels, siding, and hardware.
  • Prepare accurate and timely estimates, material lists, and bid packages.
  • Review and interpret architectural and structural plans for completeness and accuracy.
  • Partner with sales staff, project managers, and customers to ensure estimates meet project requirements.
  • Utilize estimating software (Planswift strongly preferred) to streamline takeoffs and ensure precision.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of current material pricing, availability, and industry standards.
  • Support process improvements to increase efficiency and consistency in estimating.


Qualifications:

  • Proven experience estimating for multifamily construction projects.
  • Strong knowledge of lumber, panels, siding, and related hardware.
  • Ability to read and interpret architectural and structural drawings.
  • Proficiency with Planswift or similar estimating/takeoff software.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication skills for collaborating with internal teams and customers.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
