Overview

Prepare, review, and distribute estimates for various customers and projects.


Responsibilities

Customer Service

  • Acknowledge, greet, and assist customers in a timely and professional manner
  • Handle telephone and electronic inquiries efficiently and effectively
  • Identify the needs and provide the appropriate level of assistance to the customer
  • Effectively research and resolve customer complaints and conflicts

Sales Skills

  • Understand the marketplace
  • Know product features
  • Work to meet prospect customers’ needs
  • Effective suggestive and upgrade selling and add on sales
  • Effective closing technique
  • Quote follow up- quote to order conversion
  • Develop a continuous business relationship with our customers and vendors
  • Share expertise with others

Estimating

    • Estimate quantities of material to be purchased.
    • Keep open lines of communication with salesperson and customer.
    • Uses expert judgment to interpret codes & standards, design processes, specifications, and drawings.
    • Interpret scope of work statements, specifications, drawing conflicts, ambiguities, and uncertainties.
    • Advises and collects information from other departments on any items pertinent to the development of complete estimates.
    • Ensure estimates are completed within the required timeframe.
    • Contact suppliers and vendors for current prices.
    • Notify customer of discrepancies or error in plans.
    • Visit job sites to gather information as required in order to perform estimates.

Qualifications

  • Education/Experience: Bachelor’s degree preferred but not required. 2-3 years of industry and/or estimating experience preferred.
  • Language Ability: Effective communication skills both verbally and in writing with individuals inside and outside of the company
  • Math Ability: Ability to perform advanced mathematical calculations required to accurately complete assigned tasks.
  • Reasoning Ability: Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written or oral form. Ability to use sound judgment and problem solving skills to analyze customer needs and to recommend the proper course of action.
  • Computer Skills: Proficient keyboard and computer skills including Microsoft office and other Company and discipline specific software applications
  • Certificates and License: None are required.
