Location: Tacoma, WA

Our client is seeking an experienced Product Manager to oversee the full lifecycle of assigned lumber products - from purchasing and inventory management to pricing, vendor relationships, and sales support. This is a critical role for someone with a strong background in the lumber industry who can drive product strategy, optimize inventory, and support continued business growth.
Responsibilities
  • Manage assigned product lines from purchasing through sales and ongoing performance.
  • Develop pricing strategies and maintain product pricing for the sales team.
  • Support daily sales efforts and help develop special sales programs and promotions.
  • Introduce new products and coordinate product training for employees and customers.
  • Purchase inventory and maintain optimal stock levels based on demand, inventory turns, aging goals, and company budgets.
  • Monitor inventory performance, budgeting, and return on assets (ROA).
  • Lead and participate in physical inventory counts and cycle counting activities.
  • Build relationships with existing vendors while identifying and onboarding new supplier partners.
  • Research market trends and customer needs to identify new product opportunities.
  • Collaborate across departments to improve product performance and profitability.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent industry experience preferred.
  • Experience in the lumber industry, including vendor and supplier relationships.
  • Strong understanding of purchasing, inventory management, pricing, and product profitability.
  • Experience managing inventory metrics such as turns, aging, and forecasting.
  • Ability to analyze business performance and make data-driven decisions.
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills with both vendors and internal teams.
  • Highly organized with excellent follow-up and attention to detail.
  • Comfortable managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Willingness to travel occasionally as required.
