Job description

Roadtex Transportation has become a leader in the nationwide LTL industry, specializing in transporting time and temperature-sensitive products. We handle refrigerated and LTL needs by leveraging no sailing schedules, our nationwide network of 32 strategically placed temperature-controlled facilities, our state-of-the-art tracking, and our specialized equipment and warehousing capabilities. In 2022, Roadtex was acquired by Echo Global Logistics. The acquisition brings a truckload brokerage and expanded transportation management solutions to Roadtex's customers while providing Echo with our national warehouse footprint and advanced temperature-controlled transportation solutions.

Position Overview:

Logistics/supply chain professional who can provide a great service to our customers. This position will lead the warehousing and distribution functions to ensure materials and products are safely and securely received, moved, stored and shipped on-time. Manage various locations and activities to ensure an efficient operation without bottlenecks or delays. Manage both the warehouses needs and requirements. Support the SVP of Warehouse Services with additional corporate and national warehousing tasks and projects.

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for all activities at on and off-site warehouses: Safety, quality, operational execution, staffing, metrics, continuous improvement
  • Manage and lead with warehouse supervisors, leads, clerks and associates
  • Meet and exceed warehouse related productivity and financial metrics and report daily warehouse schedule attainment
  • Responsible for new customer implementation
  • Oversees the Customer Service Group which includes order entry and service related customer issues.
  • Responsible for all material handling equipment (Maintenance, R&M). Develop programs to reduce repairs/cost
  • Manage the available dock space efficiently.
  • Monitor all inventories, equipment, etc. to avoid theft and damages
  • Ensure warehouse passes all audits (BRC, quality, internal, sanitation, etc.) with superior ratings
  • Ensure all outbound shipments ship on time, are picked and loaded accurately (correct quantities and SKUs) and arrive at destination undamaged and complete (On time and in full). Customer deductions and reports will be used to measure improvement
  • Ensure material and product are received and delivered in sanitary trailers and their security is not compromised
  • Maintain inventory accuracy above 99.9%
  • Eliminate customer deductions for claims of overages, shortages and damages
  • Maintain warehouse conditions so to eliminate internal damage to product
  • Safety comes first for all operations. Responsible to build and maintain a safety minded culture
  • Ensure all warehouse employees are properly trained and have refresher training on operating material handling as required by law
  • Ensure compliance with material handling pre-shift equipment inspections and record keeping of same
  • Ensure proper trailer chocking and other yard safety measures
  • Participate in company safety initiatives and meetings.
  • Follow all laws and regulations to ensure safety
  • Maintain the warehouses in good and clean operating conditions with materials and equipment properly maintained and in good condition
  • Work in accordance with all company policies and procedures regarding employment, safety, quality, product safety and legality, security and regulatory compliance as applicable.

Required Skills:

  • Minimum 7 years of experience as a senior level warehouse manager
  • Bachelors degree preferred or similar work experience
  • Deep knowledge of all modes of transportation, has customer facing experience and highly analytical.
  • Significant warehouse systems-based experience
  • Familiar with transportation operations and inventory accounting procedures and cycle count programs
  • Experienced managing with productivity and metrics
  • Experience managing contract employees and agency partnerships
