At Logistec, we are looking for a Broker Coordinator who will play a key role in connecting customers with reliable transportation solutions while driving operational excellence. This position is located at Port of Manatee and it is not remote.
The Broker Coordinator plays a critical role in supporting daily freight brokerage operations by coordinating shipments, managing carrier relationships, and ensuring exceptional service for both customers and transportation partners. This position serves as the primary point of contact for shipment execution, working closely with internal teams, carriers, and customers to ensure freight moves efficiently, cost-effectively, and in compliance with all company and regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities
What your day looks like as a Broker Coordinator
  • Coordinate the daily execution of truckload brokerage shipments from pickup through final delivery.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with customers and carrier partners while providing exceptional customer service.
  • Communicate proactively with customers, carriers, and internal stakeholders regarding shipment status, delays, and service updates.
  • Source carrier capacity and assist with negotiating competitive rates to maximize service and profitability.
  • Schedule pickups and deliveries while ensuring all shipment details are accurate and communicated effectively.
  • Verify that all shipping documentation, contracts, and transportation records are complete, accurate, and processed in a timely manner.
  • Monitor shipments in real time to proactively resolve service issues and ensure on-time performance.
  • Maintain accurate shipment records and transportation data within the Transportation Management System (TMS) and other company systems.
  • Prepare reports and maintain key performance metrics related to carrier performance, service levels, and operational efficiency.
  • Collaborate with sales, operations, and customer service teams to deliver seamless logistics solutions.
  • Ensure compliance with Department of Transportation (DOT), Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA), and company policies and procedures.
  • Participate in after-hours, weekend, or on-call support as business needs require.
  • Promote a culture of safety, operational excellence, and continuous improvement.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications
To succeed as Broker coordinator you must have:
  • Must have High School Diploma, Supply Chain, Logistics, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience preferred.
  • Minimum of two (2) years of experience in freight brokerage, transportation, logistics, or supply chain operations.
  • Experience working with truckload carriers and transportation management systems (TMS) is preferred.
  • Knowledge of freight brokerage operations, carrier management, and transportation regulations.
  • Familiarity with DOT and FMCSA regulations is preferred.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Strong negotiation and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Highly organized with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Strong customer service mindset with the ability to build long-term partnerships.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook) and transportation software.
  • Ability to analyze operational data and make informed decisions.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
  • Must successfully complete company logistics onboarding and required training within six months of hire.
  • Must be able to obtain a TWIC card

Work Environment
This position is primarily office-based at Port Manatee and requires frequent interaction with internal teams, customers, and carrier partners. The role may require occasional extended hours, evenings, or weekends to support customer and operational needs as business needs require.
