Job description

Responsibilities: Day-to-day management of broiler farms in a particular route that has been assigned, to ensure the efficient and profitable production of high-quality poultry. Duties include, but not limited to - overseeing flock health, maintaining optimum environmental conditions, communicating with farm personnel and ensuring compliance with animal welfare, biosecurity regulations and safety.
  • Flock Management - Monitor health, growth, and performance of broilers on contract grower farms; oversee feeding, watering and ventilation systems to ensure proper flock welfare; communicate health issues with contract growers, department manager and company veterinarians, when necessary.
  • Environmental and Facility Management - Monitor temperature, humidity, ventilation and lighting systems to ensure optimal growing conditions; ensure broiler houses, equipment and all systems are properly maintained and functional and troubleshoot and repair minor technical issues with feeding and watering systems.
  • Farm Management, Biosecurity and Compliance - train growers, farm managers and/or farm labor on company procedures, safety protocols, Animal Welfare Program and Biosecurity Guidelines.
  • Inventory and Record keeping - manage inventories for feed, water and supplies to prevent any shortages; maintain detailed records of flock performance, mortality rates, feed consumption and medication use (if needed), communicate any issues with management.
  • Health and Safety - Identify potential safety hazards and implement corrective measures.
