Poultry: Broiler Farm Manager Trainee
Job Description: Learns, demonstrates knowledge and skills, and becomes certified in all aspects of company systems and the poultry industry standards. This position functions under the supervision of the appropriate department leader while performing all duties and responsibilities as a learning/development process.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
  • Learns, demonstrates capability/knowledge and becomes efficient in all department areas including fulfilling all the requirements and responsibilities listed in company technical manuals.
  • Gains a solid understanding of and ability to implement company systems such as poultry production processes, animal flow, farm health, husbandry, etc.
  • Performs and masters all hourly jobs under supervision. Becomes efficient in each job after showing competence and skill/understanding in each.
  • Develops and establishes rapport/relationships with all personnel and management.
  • Develops and prepares required reports on experiences encountered and addresses/shares opportunities for improvement.
  • Establishes and maintains open communication with all farm staff, management, and other departments, external customers and suppliers, and the local community to identify potential problems and initiate improvements.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, do frequent stooping, bending and climbing.
  • Ensures that the farm working environment is safe, by providing safety equipment, training, and actions to prevent hazardous conditions by meeting DOL/OSHA rules and regulations.
  • Ensures all Equipment, machinery and vehicles are accounted for and properly maintained.
  • Responsible for being in compliance with all environmental laws and procedures applicable to Murphy Family Ventures.
  • Performs other duties and responsibilities as defined by manager.
Educational Requirements: Bachelor's or Associate's degree in Agriculture field or related experience
Salary: Salary dependent upon experience and education.
