Medical Assistant
Pay: $16.00 - $20.00 Per Hour
Behavioral Health Group (BHG) is the largest network of Joint Commission-accredited treatment centers and the leading provider of opioid addiction treatment services. We are dedicated to helping individuals overcome substance use disorders. With over 115 locations in 24 states, our team of more than 1,900 employees serves over 42,000 patients.
Position Summary: The Medical Assistant ensures continuity of care by following treatment program policies and procedures, conducting assessments, and performing laboratory procedures. Working under the Nurse Supervisor's supervision, they adhere to medical standards and practices.
Responsibilities:
  • Collect and ship patient laboratory specimens in compliance with regulations.
  • Prepare monthly patient lists for medical testing and manage laboratory results.
  • Assist in scheduling exams and annual physicals.
  • Conduct patient vital signs, health assessments, TB testing, and blood draws.
  • Maintain inventory for laboratory procedures and ensure a sanitary work environment.
  • Provide consultation to team members on lab testing and patient issues.
  • Maintain patient confidentiality and report workplace hazards promptly.

Qualifications:
  • Must have a High School Diploma.
  • Phlebotomy experience not required but is highly preferred.
  • Excellent communication, decision-making, and computer skills.
  • Knowledge of OSHA requirements and medical assistant/phlebotomist procedures.

Physical Demands/Working Conditions:
  • Effective communication, vision, and hearing abilities.
  • Prolonged standing, bending, and occasional use of protective equipment.
  • Variable workload, occasional high stress, and interaction with diverse patient populations.
  • Standard medical office conditions, exposure to blood borne pathogens, and keyboarding for extended periods.
