In this role you will have the option to work completely remote from your home office in the United States. If an onsite or hybrid work option is preferred, you will be able to work from our corporate headquarters in Boca Raton, FL or one of our other U.S based offices such as: Kennesaw, GA, Overland Park, KS, Houston, TX, Pittsburgh, PA or Orlando, FL. 

In this role you will be responsible for supporting and delivering the administration of the Company's benefit programs across global locations, with a focus on accuracy, compliance, and continuous improvement. This role serves as a subject matter resource for benefit offerings by maintaining in-depth knowledge of plan design, eligibility, administrative practices, and ensuring consistent application of HR policies and procedures. The Benefit Specialist provides high-quality, solution-oriented responses to inquiries and supports the escalation of complex issues. This role partners closely with Benefits management and other teams to support benefit initiatives, plays an active role in auditing and analyzing benefit data and billing, contributes to benefit related projects, compliance, reporting, and refinement of benefit procedures, and exercises professional judgment in supporting day-to-day benefits operations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Maintain in-depth knowledge of benefit policies and make recommendations to support the development and refinement of benefit policies, guidelines, procedures, systems, and documentation.
  • Ensure the accuracy of all benefits enrollments in the benefit administration system, including resolving carrier benefit issues and reviewing and approving life events, as needed.
  • Maintain data integrity by auditing and monitoring benefit-related data to ensure alignment (benefit categories, enrollments, changes, rehires, terminations, etc).
  • Assist employees with life status changes, benefits eligibility issues, claim escalations, dependent verification, or other benefit issues by partnering with carriers and benefit vendor partners.
  • Assist to review and update benefit information and materials, such as the US Benefits Guide, Life Event documents, etc.
  • Interpret leave of absence implications as they relate to employee benefits eligibility and coverage.
  • Create and distribute benefit-related correspondence for status changes impacting eligibility, such as loss/gain of eligibility for benefits, etc.
  • Principally manage the Benefits team inbox and responds to benefit and retirement inquiries from HR teams, managers, and employees on plan provisions, benefits enrollments, status changes, pre-retiree plan, COBRA, and other general inquiries.
  • Support the administration of open enrollment process for active employees, pre-retiree, and COBRA participants.
  • Manage benefit invoice payments by analyzing, auditing, reconciling, and resolving billing discrepancies and submitting via accounts payable system to ensure timely and accurate payment.
  • Audit closed loop payroll data on a biweekly basis and provide final adjustments to Payroll.
  • Conduct special projects as needed, including preparing reports and supporting reporting requirements (e.g., non-discrimination testing, ACA, etc.).
  • Develop, document, and maintain procedures related to areas of responsibility.
  • Perform work that may not always follow established procedures and requires independent judgment and problemsolving; includes exposure to employee relations matters, accountability for resolving routine to moderately complex issues, understanding how data inputs impact reporting, collaboration with senior team members on complex cases, and increased ownership of Benefits projects.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
Skills, Experience and Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree with at least 5 years of progressive professional experience in discipline; MS with at least 3-year experience in discipline; or 9 plus years of relevant experience supplemented by coursework in field. (required)
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.), including using Excel formulas such as VLOOKUP. (required)
  • Certification in related field (i.e., CEBS, etc.). (preferred)
  • Experience with HRIS, payroll, and benefit administration systems, UKG Pro and PlanSource. (preferred)
  • Some knowledge of international benefit and leave programs. (preferred)
  • Progressive professional experience includes performing increasingly complex and varied technical and project assignments. (required)
  • Extensive knowledge of employee benefits programs and applicable federal and state laws and regulations. (required)
  • Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail and accuracy. (required)
  • Demonstrative ability to handle confidential information with discretion and professionalism. (required)
  • Highquality customer service skills to manage employee inquiries with empathy, accuracy, and sound judgment, resolving complex or sensitive issues while ensuring compliant outcomes. (required)
