Job description

Job Summary: We are seeking skilled and safety-conscious Conveyor Belt Technicians to join our field services team. This role is responsible for the installation, maintenance, repair, and splicing of conveyor belt systems across industrial and mining environments. The ideal candidate will have strong mechanical aptitude, a commitment to safety, and the ability to work in physically demanding conditions.

This is a non-exempt, hourly position, reporting directly to the Conveyor Belt Services General Foreman.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include but aren't limited to:

  • Actively promote and participate in a safe working culture through toolbox talks, safety briefings, and risk assessments.
  • Install, inspect, and service conveyor belt systems, including belt splicing (mechanical and vulcanized).
  • Perform routine maintenance and preventative inspections to ensure optimal system performance.
  • Troubleshoot and repair mechanical and electrical issues related to conveyor systems.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals.
  • Operate hand tools, power tools, and specialized equipment safely and effectively.
  • Conduct safety inspections and adhere to OSHA, MSHA, and company safety protocols.
  • Document maintenance activities, inspections, and repairs accurately.
  • Assist in the assembly and disassembly of conveyor systems during shutdowns or installations.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area and ensure proper handling of materials and tools.
  • Communicate effectively with team members, supervisors, and clients on job progress and safety concerns.
  • Comply with all company policies and procedures outlined in the Employee Handbook.
  • Other duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications and Skills Required:

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • 1-3 years of experience in conveyor belt installation, maintenance, or industrial mechanical work preferred.
  • Proficiency in belt splicing techniques (hot/cold vulcanizing, mechanical fasteners).
  • Strong mechanical and troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to read technical drawings and follow detailed instructions.
  • Familiarity with safety regulations and procedures in industrial environments.
  • Willingness to travel and work varied shifts, including nights and weekends as needed.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.

Criteria/Conditions:

  • Ability to work in various industrial settings, including Shop environment, mining environment, and construction environment, which may include exposure to extremes in temperature and humidity
  • Ability to safely lift 75-100 lbs. frequently, using proper lifting techniques
  • RAM will provide phone and laptop, transportation, and training requirements necessary for the project locations.
