About Baseball Lifestyle 101

BL101 began as an Instagram account started by a baseball obsessed teenager on his couch that started a community and has grown into something bigger than he ever couldโ€™ve imagined. Today, Baseball Lifestyle has over 200 employees, retail locations in malls and tournament complexes, and can be found in various sporting goods stores around the country, like Dickโ€™s Sporting Goods, Scheels, and Academy. The community built at BL101 has grown with the companyโ€™s success and the mission to grow the love of baseball stands true every day. The journey at Baseball Lifestyle has brought our brand around the country to some of the biggest venues has to offer, and we will continue to spread our love of baseball and our brand to not just baseball fans, but everyone that is looking for the best off-field apparel the industry has to offer.
Pay Range: $23.00 - $24.00 per hour
Location: 1770 West Main Street, Riverhead, NY 11901

Assistant Manager Responsibilities

  • Organize all store operations and allocate responsibilities to personnel.

  • Maintain an up-to-date product inventory sheets and pick lists.

  • Maintain backstock in a neat, clean and organized manner.

  • Interview, select candidates, and oversee a team of retail associates.

  • Create and maintaining the schedule for all retail associates.

  • Delegate responsibilities to retail associates.

  • Supervise and guide staff towards maximum performance.

  • Prepare and control the storeโ€™s budget aiming for minimum expenditure and efficiency.

  • Monitor stock levels and purchases and ensure they stay within budget.

  • Deal with complaints from customers to maintain the storeโ€™s reputation.

  • Inspect the areas in the store and resolve any issues that might arise.

  • Plan and oversee in-store promotional events or displays.

  • Keep abreast of market trends to determine the need for improvements in the store.

  • Analyze sales and revenue reports and make forecasts.

  • Ensure the store fulfills all safety guidelines.

  • Contribute to a positive work environment.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Assistant Manager Requirements

  • Proven experience in retail management, with a strong background in sales and customer service.

  • Ability to effectively manage cash handling, cash registers, and inventory control.

  • Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and manage a diverse team.

  • Ability to analyze sales data and market trends to inform strategic decisions.

  • Experience in negotiating with vendors and managing vendor relationships.

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; bachelor's degree in business or a related field preferred.

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced retail environment with a focus on customer service and sales growth.
