Job description

About Engine
At Engine, we're transforming business travel into something personalized, rewarding, and simple. For too long, managing travel and spend has been overwhelming and fragmented - we're here to change that. We believe the future of travel should be seamless and powered by technology that delights customers at every step. That's why we're building a platform that brings together corporate travel, a powerful charge card, and modern spend management in one place.
To make this vision real, we're looking for exceptional, mission-driven people to help redefine how businesses manage and experience travel.
More than 30,000 companies already rely on Engine to support over 1 million travelers and billions in annual bookings each year. Cash flow positive with rapid growth, we pair exclusive Engine-only rates, industry-leading rewards, and intelligent automation to help businesses save money while delivering world-class personalization and convenience.
Backed by Telescope Partners, Blackstone, and Permira, Engine has been recognized as one of the fastest-growing travel and fintech platforms in North America, with honors including the Deloitte Fast 500 and Built In's Best Places to Work.
We are looking for a creative powerhouse to serve as our Senior Internal Communications Manager. This is not a traditional playbook role. We do not want corporate-speak or dry newsletters. We want someone who can harness the energy of a young mindset company, partner with a high-octane CEO who loves hype, and turn rapid change into a competitive advantage.
Your Mission
You will be the architect of our internal narrative. Your job is to bring clarity and focus to a distributed workforce, ensuring every employee from the Slack power-user to the executive feels the momentum of our mission.
The Core Pillars of the Role
  • Produce the Show: Own the end-to-end production of our weekly virtual All Hands and the content for our high-impact, in-person quarterly town halls. We are looking for someone who sees these as a production, not just a meeting.
  • Master the Pivot: You will be our Change Management lead. When priorities shift and they will, you will draft the plans that help employees understand the why and the how, keeping them steady and motivated.
  • The Slack Sensei: Define how we live and breathe on Slack. You will maintain the architecture and norms to keep it a high-signal, high-energy community.
  • Strategic Advisor: You will not just take orders. You will partner with leaders and executives to provide strategic comms advice, helping them deliver messages with clarity, candor, and maximum impact.
  • Culture Architect: Create rituals that celebrate what good looks like at Engine, reinforcing our culture through recognition and shared experiences.
Who You Are
  • Out-of-the-Box Creator: You have a hacker spirit. You might use AI tools to spin up a video, have a keen eye for graphic design, or find an unconventional way to deliver a major announcement.
  • Resilient and Gritty: You thrive in high-growth environments where speed matters. You are not rattled by a shifting deadline or a change in direction.
  • Exceptional Decisive Writer: You can mirror our CEO's hype while maintaining the grounding clarity employees need.
  • Experimental Mindset: We are willing to take a bet on you if you have the aptitude and the grit to try new things, fail fast, and iterate.
Qualifications
  • Proven experience in communications, but more importantly, a portfolio that shows creativity and edge.
  • Strong judgment around tone and timing.
  • Experience in a fast-moving or remote-first environment is a major plus.
  • A background in change management or navigating scale-up growing pains.

Ready to build the future of travel with us? If you are tired of standard comms and want to build a world-class employee experience, let's talk.
#LI-MH1
Applications for this role will be accepted through August 24th, 2026 or until the role is filled. We encourage you to apply early, as we may begin reviewing applications before the deadline.
Compensation
Our compensation packages are based on several factors, including your experience, expertise, and location. In addition to a competitive base salary, total compensation may include equity and/or variable pay (OTE). Your recruiter will share your complete compensation package as you move through the process.
Base Pay Range
$125,600-$173,900 USD
The Engine Edge: Perks & CompensationWe believe in rewarding great work with great benefits:
  • Compensation: Competitive base pay tied to role and experience, with opportunities for bonuses, commissions, and equity.
  • Benefits: Check out our full list at engine.com/culture.
  • Environments for Success: Different roles have different needs in terms of the environments that drive success which is why we have a hybrid-hub model. Whether you are in one of our amazing offices or fully remote, we'll make sure you have what you need to succeed.

Perks and benefits may vary based on employment type, location, and more.
