JOB TITLE: Search Engine Optimization Specialist

DEPARTMENT: Analytics

REPORTS TO: Manager, Web Tagging and Implementation


MAJOR PURPOSE:

The SEO Specialist is responsible for driving organic growth and search visibility for a portfolio of clients by developing and executing data-driven SEO strategies. This role serves as a primary point of contact for clients, leading meetings, delivering actionable insights, and ensuring all work aligns with client goals and quality standards. The Senior, SEO Specialist combines technical expertise, including content optimization, schema markup, and site health troubleshooting, with strong analytical and communication skills to track performance, report on results, and continuously improve client satisfaction. As search evolves, this role also plays a key part in staying ahead of emerging trends, including Generative Engine Optimization (GEO) and AI-driven search visibility.


MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Lead and manage partner SEO strategies, monitor KPIs and goal funnels
  • Stay up to date with search engine algorithm updates
  • Daily monitoring of important KPIs for SEO channel, including both internal and external data
  • Perform advanced keyword research to help guide content strategy
  • Provide recommendations to partners, execute, and manage strategies for content development in coordination with SEO goals - general and keyword specific
  • Lead link building efforts and work with outreach specialist to ensure a successful off-page link building strategy
  • Perform routine site audits for partners to identify technical SEO fixes and work within CMS (or with web developers) to ensure that website changes are QA'd and working as expected
  • Provide web analytics as needed to understand and diagnose performance shifts over time

Requirements

CANDIDATE SHOULD HAVE:

  • Strong interest in Online Marketing and Analytics
  • Strong analytical mindset with an ability to think outside the box
  • Experience working with data and the ability to present insights in a clear and actionable way
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced team environment
  • Excellent written, verbal, and visual communication skills

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

  • Ideal BA/BS degree in Mathematics, Information Systems, Statistics, Economics, Marketing, Business, or related discipline
  • 2+ years performing search engine optimization, preferably in an agency or multi-client environment
  • Strong working knowledge of GA4, Google Search Console, and SEO platforms such as SEMRush, Ahrefs, and Screaming Frog
  • Experience with Looker Studio or similar dashboard and reporting tools
  • Familiarity with schema markup, technical SEO troubleshooting, and content optimization
  • Experience with GEO or AI search visibility a plus
  • Both A/B testing experience and web analytics a plus
