Holiday Inn & Suites St. Cloud | Weddings | Conferences | Event Kitchen

Position Overview

The Holiday Inn & Suites St. Cloud is seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Line Cook – Banquets & Events to support culinary operations for weddings, conferences, corporate meetings, and large-scale events.

This role is responsible for preparing and executing high-quality food in a fast-paced banquet and catering environment, ensuring all dishes are delivered on time, consistent, and aligned with event specifications.

This is not a traditional restaurant line role—this position focuses on large-scale event execution, batch production, and coordinated banquet service.

Key Responsibilities

Banquet & Event Food Execution

  • Prepare and cook food for weddings, conferences, business meetings, and catered events
  • Execute banquet menus with consistency, accuracy, and attention to presentation
  • Support high-volume production for large groups and multi-function events
  • Ensure all food is prepared and delivered according to event timelines and service standards

Food Preparation & Production

  • Prepare meats, seafood, poultry, vegetables, soups, and hot food items using various kitchen equipment
  • Assist with bulk prep, portioning, and pre-event production
  • Follow standardized recipes and banquet production guidelines
  • Maintain proper plating and garnishing for banquet service

Station Setup & Organization

  • Set up, stock, and maintain banquet prep stations for efficient service
  • Ensure all ingredients and supplies are ready prior to event execution
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and well-stocked workstation

Quality & Safety Standards

  • Follow all food safety, sanitation, and handling procedures
  • Ensure proper food rotation (FIFO) and product labeling
  • Maintain consistency with portion sizes, cooking methods, and quality standards

Team Collaboration

  • Work closely with Banquet Sous Chef, Executive Chef, and banquet team to ensure smooth service
  • Communicate effectively during high-volume service periods
  • Assist with prep, execution, and breakdown of events

Qualifications

  • Previous experience as a Line Cook, Prep Cook, or Banquet Cook preferred
  • Experience in high-volume kitchens, catering, or event environments a plus
  • Ability to work efficiently under pressure and meet tight timelines
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
  • Ability to work flexible schedules including nights, weekends, and holidays
