Our banquet culinary team plays a vital role in supporting weddings, corporate events, social celebrations, and specialty functions.


Position Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and talented Banquet Prep & Cook 1 to join our culinary team. This position supports high-volume banquet operations through excellent preparation, consistency, and teamwork. The right candidate will take pride in delivering high-quality dishes that reflect our hotel's commitment to Marriott service standards and the Tribute Portfolio brand.


Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and cook menu items for banquet events following established recipes, portion standards, and Marriott quality expectations
  • Assist with setup and breakdown of banquet prep stations, mise en place, and cooking equipment
  • Maintain exceptional cleanliness and organization of kitchen, storage, and prep areas
  • Adhere to all food safety, sanitation, and HACCP guidelines
  • Properly label, rotate, and store all food items using FIFO procedures
  • Assist with receiving, inspecting, and storing food and supply deliveries
  • Support plating, garnishing, and execution of dishes during high-volume events
  • Review and follow Banquet Event Orders (BEOs) to ensure accuracy in menu production and event timelines
  • Communicate low-stock items, prep needs, and equipment issues to culinary leadership
  • Collaborate with the Executive Chef, Sous Chef, and Banquet Captains to ensure seamless and timely service
  • Uphold Marriott's standards of hospitality, teamwork, professionalism, and safety

  • This position requires the ability to:
  • Stand and walk for extended periods (up to 8-10 hours)
  • Lift, carry, push, and pull items up to 50 lbs routinely
  • Bend, stoop, reach, and perform repetitive motions throughout the shift
  • Work in hot, fast-paced kitchen environments
  • Safely use kitchen tools, knives, and equipment
  • Work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays based on event schedules
