Job description

Position Overview:


The Business Development Representative will play a key role in expanding SSF’s presence across the U.S. by identifying and onboarding new automotive repair facilities that specialize in European carlines. This field-based role involves regular travel to emerging markets, building strategic relationships, educating potential customers, and supporting long-term growth objectives. The ideal candidate thrives in a self-directed environment and has a strong understanding of the auto parts industry. This is a remote role.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Identify, visit, and establish new relationships with automotive repair facilities specializing in European carlines
  • Actively develop and grow new customer accounts through field prospecting and outreach in target markets
  • Support the sales team by helping convert new leads into active accounts through education, relationship-building, and product support
  • Educate potential customers on SSF’s value proposition, including our product catalog, promotions, online tools, and service capabilities
  • Collaborate with Product Managers to provide market feedback and help shape product positioning strategies
  • Collect and analyze market intelligence, including competitor activity, customer needs, and emerging trends
  • Maintain detailed records of customer visits, findings, and follow-up actions using internal reporting tools
  • Participating in trade shows, industry events, and other promotional opportunities as needed
  • Provide field reports to leadership summarizing market conditions, opportunities, and challenges
  • Perform special projects or assignments as directed by management

Requirements:

  • Experience in automotive parts distribution is highly preferred, especially within German and Swedish vehicle applications
  • Proven track record in field sales, business development, or account acquisition
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills
  • Ability to manage time independently and travel frequently across the U.S.
  • Travel frequency: 50%-60% across the U.S.
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record and insurability under company policy
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, email communication, and CRM/reporting systems
  • Must comply with SSF’s Employee Handbook and all applicable company policies
  • Professional demeanor and the ability to always represent SSF with integrity

Preferred Skills & Abilities:

  • Bilingual capabilities are a plus
  • Must demonstrate strong technical expertise in data analysis, Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, customer relationship management (CRM) platforms, and online business tools.
  • Strong attention to detail and analytical thinking
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Comfortable working independently while contributing to a team-oriented culture

Pay Details

  • Salary based on experience for this position up to $65,000 USD annually. Monthly bonus is dependent on performance with an earning potential which can exceed $45,000
