Overview
We are seeking a knowledgeable and motivated Auto Repair Service Writer Assistant Manager to join our dynamic automotive service team. This role combines technical understanding with customer service expertise to ensure efficient communication between customers and our service technicians. The ideal candidate will have dealership experience, automotive diagnostics knowledge, and a strong background in auto service management. As an integral part of our management team, you will oversee daily operations, assist with service writing, and support sales initiatives to enhance customer satisfaction and operational efficiency.
Duties
  • Act as a liaison between customers and technicians to accurately document vehicle issues and repair needs
  • Assist in creating detailed auto estimates for repairs such as transmissions, oil changes, brake repairs, suspension work, tire services, diesel engine repairs, shocks & struts, alignments, and auto body repairs
  • Support upselling of additional services and maintenance packages to maximize shop revenue while ensuring customer needs are met
  • Oversee the workflow of the service department, ensuring timely completion of repairs and quality standards are maintained
  • Handle cash transactions and vehicle sales processes with professionalism and accuracy
  • Provide exceptional customer service by addressing inquiries, explaining repair procedures, and managing expectations effectively
  • Support the training and mentoring of junior staff members in automotive diagnostics, mechanical knowledge, and customer interactions
  • Maintain organized records of service orders, estimates, and repair histories for all vehicles serviced
