Job description

This is an amazing opportunity as a Project Manager with an established company. Marshall Industries Inc. is an employee-owned company and has been in the Audio/Video integration industry since 1975 with 115+ employees.   

Marshall Industries Inc. is involved in a variety of industries regarding special systems. Industries include Healthcare, Education, House of Worship, Communications, and Commercial AV. 

The Project Manager is responsible for overall communication with the customer and Marshall team for the scheduling and completion of each project. Responsible for each project from the assignment through final project completion, including managing costs and transition to service.  We are looking to fill the position in the St. George, UT area. 

Responsibilities: 

  • Responsible for working with estimating staff to ensure competitive and accurate bid to the customer 
  • Evaluate the contractual scope of work and assess/mitigate risks, and plan project. 
  • Plan, organize and staff key project positions through department heads. 
  • Manage multiple audio/visual and communication projects simultaneously. 
  • Initiate and maintain liaison with prime client and A/E contacts to coordinate scheduling activities and facilitate successful construction activities, including project timeline and completion date. 
  • Manage the pre-installation planning with the project team, vendors, general contractor, and customers. 
  • Manage the creation and submission of project and closeout documents and plans. 
  • Manage the project and the installation team. 
  • Track and manage change orders, project hours, and overages. 
  • Monitor/control project development through the administrative direction of an onsite field supervisor. 
  • Prepare, issue and update master project schedule and variance reports ensuring the project is built on schedule and within budget. 
  • Investigate potentially serious situations to circumvent problems and promptly implement corrective measures as required. 
  • Coordinates company assets including, but not limited to; specialty tools, lifts, trailers and manpower 
  • Responsible for communicating project progress/changes to customer and company project and technical staff, including project team meetings. 
  • Coordinate closeout activities with the team, customer, and construction, including owner training 
  • Coordinates ship dates and staging of all project-related equipment 
  • Assist with scheduling of company installation and technical staff and any associated subcontractors 
  • Works with the administration to ensure accurate and timely billing to customer 
  • Follows written process where implemented 
  • Other duties as required or assigned by company management 

Qualifications, Skills & Abilities: 

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. 
  • 5 -10 years of experience with design, finance, and management, specifically in low voltage communications and A/V installations 
  • Ability to assist with system design as needed. 
  • PMP/PSP certifications not required but beneficial 
  • Risk management and conflict resolution skills 
  • Strong organizational skills 
  • Must be responsible, self-motivated, self-starter, personable, and well-organized. 
  • Superior customer service skills to deal with both internal and external customers. 
  • Can motivate and lead others, accept responsibility, and hold others accountable for the goals, core values and mission of the company. 
  • Ability to know when to delegate work to others. 
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously. 
  • Strong interpersonal skills: the ability to work with diverse groups. 
  • Proficiency in the use of personal computers, knowledge of MS Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint and Outlook 
  • Ability to demonstrate planning, organizing, and implementing skills which allow the successful completion of a project by a specific due date. 
  • Must be able to effectively handle stressful situations. 
  • Must be able to read and effectively interpret general business documentation and construction documents 
  • Valid and current driver’s license. 

Physical, Mental & Environmental Requirements: 

  • Employee is required to stand, walk, climb, sit and use their hands and fingers. 
  • Some light, to moderate lifting of objects is required. 
  • Reaching, grasping, and carrying activities are also required. 
  • The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. 
  • Although most work is performed inside, occasional outside activities are subject to seasonal temperature fluctuations. 
  • Work overtime as needed/scheduled. 

Travel: 

  • It is expected that this position may require a minimal amount of travel. It may require travel to Client sites.
