The Career Institute of Technology (CIT) is seeking a compassionate, organized, and student-focused
healthcare professional to join our team supporting the health, safety, and well-being of high school
students. This position may be filled as either a Certified School Nurse or a First Aid, Safety & Attendance
Officer depending upon the qualifications of the successful candidate.
The successful candidate will provide student health services, emergency care, attendance procedures and
collaborate with administrators, teachers, families, and healthcare providers to promote a safe learning
environment. This position begins full-time with the start of the 2026-2027 school year.
Qualifications:
-Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) or Registered Nurse (RN) required.
-PDE Certified School Nurse Certification required if hired as a Certified School Nurse.
-Strong computer, communication, organizational, and multitasking skills.
-Ability to learn student database software and Microsoft Office/Google applications.
-CPR/AED Certification preferred.
Responsibilities include:
-Provide first aid and emergency medical care to students and staff as needed.
-Manage all daily student attendance operations, including entering attendance data and coordinating
with sending school districts to reconcile. This responsibility comprises approximately 50% of the
position's daily workload.
-Maintain student health records, accident reports, medical documentation and state-required records.
-Coordinate health services & communicate with parents, healthcare providers and sending school
districts.
-Assist with accident prevention, school safety initiatives, emergency preparedness & standing orders.
-Recognize and respond appropriately to physical, emotional, and mental health concerns.
-Serve as a member of the Crisis Response Team and School Safety Team.
-Collaborate with administrators, teachers, counselors and families to support student success.
Compensation is competitive and includes excellent benefits. This is a 10-month, school year (188 days),
Mon- Fri, 7.5 hours per day. Pennsylvania Public School Employees' Retirement System (PSERS)
