Summary of Job Duties:University of Arkansas-Pulaski Technical College (UA-PTC) in Little Rock, Arkansas, is accepting applications for the Technical Sciences Director at the Little Rock South location. The Director is responsible for the daily operations, faculty support, safety, quality, and efficient and clean program labs and spaces for technical sciences at the Little Rock South location under the direct supervision of the Dean. The Director facilitates industry partner collaboration, academic integrity, quality, growth, and safety of the Technical Science programs with efficient, cost-effective management. The primary office of the Director is at the Little Rock South Location.
GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
Performs a variety of coordination and operations, including but not limited to: building, supporting, and sustaining the UA-PTC Technical Sciences at the LR South location.
Collaborates with business and industry and local Chambers of Commerce to provide relevant and rigorous CTE programs.
Supports accreditation and compliance reviews for all Technical Science programs at the South location.
Facilitates program reviews and monitors enrollment, retention, and Success Rates
Sustains accredited programs meeting deadlines and renewals and seeks accreditation where it is not in place.
Promotes professional development for faculty and staff.
Coordinates equipment maintenance, purchases, and disposals.
Coordinates faculty evaluations through the Faculty Evaluation Plan.
Facilitates advisory council meetings for Technical Sciences each Fall and Spring in coordination with the program faculty at the south location.
Coordinates OSD Grants or other workforce grants in collaboration with Grants office and procurement, and facilities for deliveries.
Travels between South location to Main campus or to industry partner sites as needed.
Coordinates with Career Institute and Early College Coordinator for concurrent credit in CTE Technical Science courses at the south location.
Coordinates with Director of Technical Sciences at Main campus and the Dean to facilitate apprenticeships and internships.
Participates in shared governance processes.
Manages supplies and consumables for Technical Sciences at Little Rock South.
Monitors and makes annual budget recommendations for Tech Sciences in coordination with the Dean.
Ensures Schedules, Grades, Roster Verifications, etc., are completed on time for the Technical Sciences at the South location.
Qualifications:

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Effective communication skills (i.e., written and spoken) requiring frequent, professional contact with external stakeholders

  • Experience working with state and federal grant-funded programs.

  • Skill in computer operations and use of programs involving word processing, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.

  • Energetic and self-directed.

  • Proficient organizational skills at a high level.

  • Ability to work cooperatively and collaboratively with staff and students.

  • Attention to detail and follow-through at a high level of proficiency.

  • The Technical Sciences Coordinator for the south location should have a minimum of 3-5 years' experience (in areas including, but not limited to, industry, administration, teaching, and learning) at the secondary or post-secondary levels.

  • Associate's degree with Bachelors in a related area preferred.

  • Promote the mission of the University of Arkansas-Pulaski Technical College

  • Other miscellaneous duties as assigned.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Project Management Certification or PMP course completion

  • 7-10 years in industry and post-secondary Technical Sciences experience
