Job description

Description:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and technically skilled 3D Associate Technical Designer to support WM Kids apparel programs, with a focus on 3D pattern corrections across multiple categories. This role partners closely with the Technical Design team, as well as overseas offices and factory-based 3D teams, to ensure accurate execution of pattern corrections throughout all fit stages.


The 3D Associate Technical Designer plays a critical role in validating that physical samples can be successfully produced and that revised 3D assets accurately reflect Technical Design feedback. This position requires strong pattern knowledge, precision, and the ability to manage deadlines within a fast-paced, calendar-driven environment.


Responsibilities

  • Collaborate closely with the Technical Design team to measure, adjust, and execute required e-pattern corrections across all fit stages prior to production
  • Apply Technical Design feedback to update 3D assets, ensuring corrections are accurately reflected in patterns, graded nests, and visual renders
  • Own and manage the workflow, prioritization, and deadlines for all 3D submissions in alignment with WM Kids production calendars
  • Partner with overseas offices and factory-based 3D teams to ensure clear communication and timely execution of updates
  • Confirm that revised 3D assets support physical sample feasibility and meet brand and retailer specifications
  • Ensure all 3D renders, measurements, and graded nests remain accurate, current, and production-ready
  • Maintain organized documentation and version control for all 3D pattern updates and submissions

Requirements:
  • Associateโ€™s or Bachelorโ€™s degree in Technical Design, Patternmaking, Fashion Design, or a related field preferred
  • 1โ€“3 years of experience in 3D technical design, patternmaking, or related apparel development roles
  • Strong understanding of patternmaking, pattern corrections, grading, and fit across childrenโ€™s apparel categories
  • Hands-on experience working with 3D pattern software and digital e-patterns
  • Familiarity with mass-market production calendars and retailer-specific requirements (WM experience a plus)
  • Highly detail-oriented with strong organizational and time-management skills
  • Ability to collaborate cross-functionally with Technical Design teams and overseas partners
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment

New York Pay Rate $50,000 - $65,000
