As a designer for Centric Brands, you'll use your skills and creativity to create designs based on style plans, sales needs and emerging trends. You will also ensure that your work can be transformed into a finished product in a timely manner and at an appropriate price point. This means working not only with our technical design and production teams, but also building collaborative relationships with outside vendors and other external stakeholders. Specific Responsibilities Would Include
We are looking for an Associate Technical Designer for our growing Kids Division, working with boys' separates.
Specific Responsibilities
  • Participate in style and fit approval process with cross-functional partners to meet all deadlines and address issues for resolution with technical designers and fashion designers.
  • Work closely with the Technical Design Manager to create accurate initial specs and determine proper fit and construction.
  • Measure and prepare all samples for fit sessions.
  • Participate in fit sessions, taking accurate notes during the session, appropriate recommendations for fit and construction issues.
  • Adhere to established fit, construction, and safety standards by producing accurate specification packages including sketch details, base size specifications, grading, and construction.
  • Communicate development and fit information to overseas vendors through written reports, sketches and/or pattern corrections.
  • Review and comment on digital reports from overseas Technical Design team.
  • Field issues from proto through production
  • Support technical design workload by creating fit schedules and maintaining tracking logs and measurement records.
  • Participate in 3D initiatives.
  • Support additional technical design projects and initiatives as needed.

Our Best Fit Candidate Would Have
Competencies
  • Must possess strong knowledge of garment construction, fit standards, understanding of patternmaking, grade rules and key fabrications.
  • Comprehensive understanding of Child Safety guidelines
  • Must be able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and under pressure.
  • Must possess good time management and organizational skills
  • Must possess the ability to follow through with task completion
  • Ability to multi-task
  • Superior organizational skills and excellent verbal and written communication skills

Education and/or Experience
  • Minimum of 2 yrs of technical design experience, preferably in children's apparel
  • Apparel related Associates or Bachelor's degree from a Fashion School preferred
  • Experience working with overseas vendors

Computer Skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite, Adobe Illustrator
  • Experience with Flex PLM
  • 3D Browzwear / V-stitcher a plus.

Salary Range: $66,300 - $70,000

Our job postings include an annual base salary range at the time of employment. The stated base salary range represents our good faith estimate as to what candidates are likely to expect, and we tailor our offers within the range based on several factors, including the selected candidate's educational and professional experience, industry knowledge, location, technical and communication skills, and other factors that may prove relevant during the selection process. Base salary is a part of a total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, annual bonus and other Centric Brands sponsored benefit programs.
