Livingly Media owns and operates four web properties: flagship lifestyle site, Livingly; entertainment news site, Zimbio; home decor and design site, Lonny; and fashion and beauty site, StyleBistro. This position is for Associate Editor at Lonny and is based in Redwood City, CA - about 20 miles south of San Francisco.



Job Description

We're looking for a detail-oriented, social-media savvy, design-obsessed Associate Editor to join the Lonny team. The ideal candidate should possess a love for all things design related - from interiors to entertaining to tech - and have a keen sense of aesthetics and what makes a story shareable.

He/she will also possess strong writing and ideation skills and understand the importance of packaging and creating editorial content for social and be flexible and efficient in creating content solely for social. The candidate must have prior experience at a leading, lifestyle online brand and must be skilled across all social-media platforms.

Qualifications
  • In-depth knowledge and interest in lifestyle-related content, with special attention to what's happening in the interiors world
  • Understanding of how to optimize stories for social and has hands-on experience working across various social platforms
  • Ability to come up with interesting news hooks, angles, and surprising takeaways quickly
  • 2 to 3 years experience writing and editing at a leading online publication, preferably in the lifestyle space, is a plus
  • Ability to pivot and balance multiple tasks at once while still maintaining quality work
  • Must be able to work on tight deadlines and thrive in a start-up environment
Additional Information
  • Pitch, write, and edit a mix of surprising, long-lead lifestyle stories as well as producing daily posts as needed
  • Work with the Managing Editor to help maintain the editorial calendar - as well as help plan and build upcoming calendars
  • Produce and optimize content for social sharing
  • Update social-media channels and keep an eye on emerging social trends and new platforms
