Position Summary...The Workforce Transformation team helps Walmart to understand how work is changing and what to do about it. We build the evidence base that tells us how roles are changing and how fast, develop the frameworks for workforce decisions, and manage the human side of the transitions - whether driven by AI, organizational restructuring, or M&A integration. Our role is to connect workforce strategy to business strategy - and to lead the transformation in a way that puts people first.
The Director, Program Management oversees a complex portfolio of initiatives across segments and functions. This role drives enterprise accountability, ensures disciplined execution, and strengthens cross-functional alignment to deliver measurable results. The Director enhances structural effectiveness, operational efficiency, and decision velocity enabling sustained enterprise impact.What you'll do...Cross-Functional Alignment at Scale
  • Cultivate strong, trust-based relationships across stakeholder groups
  • Facilitate structured cross-functional forums as needed
  • Manage competing priorities diplomatically
  • Reduce friction across teams by clarifying roles, responsibilities, and decision rights
Speed and Structure
  • Lead project management of enterprise-wide strategy and org health review reviews
  • Establish standardized review frameworks and timelines
  • Drive cross-functional coordination across People, Finance, and Strategy leaders
  • Ensure executive-ready materials and data accuracy ahead of review forums
  • Track decisions and deliverables through implementation

Functional Integration
  • Build connection points across HR M&A and Workforce Transitions teams to share best practices and strengthen collective impact
  • Identify opportunities to standardize processes and adopt technology that makes teams more effective
  • Define shared performance metrics that give the portfolio a unified view of outcomes
  • Assess data landscape and translate findings into actionable insights

Portfolio & Team Operations
  • Own operating routine for the portfolio (roadmaps, MBRs, deliverables, capacity alignment)
  • Design governance mechanisms to manage intake, prioritization, and execution tracking
  • Establish relationships and partner with vendors; monitor performance outcomes
  • Provide operational support for enterprise AI forums
  • Synthesize internal and external workforce transformation insights to inform strategy
