Job description

First Orion is seeking a skilled DevOps Engineer to own the reliability, scalability, and delivery infrastructure that gets code from developer machines to productionsafely, andkeeps it running there.You'llhave full decision authority over how infrastructure is provisioned, how services get to production, and what reliability looks like.

Whatyou'llbe doing:

  • Infrastructure & Cloud

  • Provision and manage all AWS resources via Terraform (EKS, VPC, DynamoDB, SQS, Kinesis, S3, IAM, KMS, CloudFront)

  • EKS cluster lifecycle (upgrades, node management,Karpentertuning)

  • Networking: VPCs, subnets, transit gateway routes, security groups, VPC endpoints

  • Kubernetes &GitOps

  • Helm chart authoring and maintenance

  • ArgoCDapplication definitions and sync policies

  • Horizontal Pod Autoscaling, ingress controllers (Traefik), TLS (cert-manager), DNS (externaldns)

  • CI/CD & Delivery

  • Bitbucket Pipelines structure, step definitions, deployment gates

  • Deployment automation scripts and OIDC-based pipeline authentication to AWS

  • Dockerfileoptimization (multi-stage builds, layer caching, base imageselection)

  • Observability

  • OpenTelemetrycollector deployment and New Relic integration

  • Define instrumentation standards for developers

  • Own dashboards, build,maintain, and iterate on what's monitored

  • Security & Reliability
