Key responsibilities

  • Own the Platform roadmap end to end, including shared infrastructure and backend systems powering Weekend.

  • Run ongoing discovery with game and product teams to surface blockers and ensure Platform initiatives trace to customer outcomes.

Job description

About Us
Weekend is the leading developer of voice AI games for smart TVs. Our games attract millions of users every month, with family favorites like Jeopardy!, Song Quiz, CoComelon: Sing and Play with JJ, and Wheel of Fortune.
We believe voice interfaces will become the main way people access entertainment in their living rooms, kitchens, bedrooms, and cars. We're building a bundled subscription product similar to Netflix or Spotify for the emerging category of "AI-powered games."
Weekend was founded by Max Child and James Wilsterman in 2024. The founders went Y Combinator in 2018 and landed a spot on the 2022 YC Top Companies List. We're a quickly-growing team headquartered in Union Square, San Francisco.
Role Summary
Weekend is hiring a Senior Product Manager to lead our Weekend Platform team. Platform builds the foundation every Weekend game and user-facing surface runs on: the shared primitives game and product teams build with (AI services, cross-platform SDK, streaming infrastructure for AI-native games, A/B testing and feature flags, the tracking SDK, AI prompt and agent tooling) and the backend systems that power Weekend itself (platform APIs, identity, billing, engagement and growth tooling).
When Platform delivers, the whole company moves faster. Game teams ship more, engagement and growth experiments move faster, and more customers stick around. You'll own the systems other teams build on, and your impact will show up in their velocity and the customer outcomes that follow.
This job opportunity offers a hybrid work arrangement, and we are specifically seeking candidates who are comfortable with on-site attendance in our Bay Area office 3 times per week and are either currently residing in or near the Bay Area or willing to relocate for on-site work.
What You'll Do at Weekend
  • Own the Platform roadmap end to end - from shared infrastructure game and product teams build with, to the backend systems powering Weekend (engagement, conversion, growth, payments, identity)
  • Embed inside game and product teams. Understand what's slowing them down on the metrics that matter (engagement, conversion, retention), then collaborate and ship the Platform work that unlocks them.
  • Run ongoing discovery with game and product teams to surface the friction points blocking velocity; trace every Platform bet to a customer outcome.
  • Earn adoption. Know what game and product teams need next, then design primitives so well they become the obvious way to build on.
  • Partner closely with your engineering counterpart (Senior EM, Platform) and PM peers across Hub, Games, and Growth
  • Identify the next generation of Platform primitives as Weekend's product surface expands
We're Excited About You Because You Have
  • 6+ years in product management, with at least 3 building platforms, infrastructure, developer tools, or APIs at a consumer or developer-facing company
  • Deep technical fluency - you read PRs, hold your own in architecture discussions, and take positions on trade-offs
  • Customer obsession that holds even when your work isn't user-facing. Every roadmap call still traces back to what the person on the couch feels.
  • A track record of Platform work that other teams actually adopted, with measurable outcomes
  • Speed-first instincts - you ship a v1 to learn, not a perfect spec to gate
  • Daily, fluent use of AI tools and a sharp opinion on how AI is changing the PM craft
  • Experience driving cross-team alignment between game, product, and engineering orgs
Bonus Points
  • CTV, console, streaming, or multi-device consumer platform experience
  • Voice, LLM, or agent-driven product features shipped in production
  • Internal developer experience ownership (SDKs, starter kits, CLIs, docs)
  • Experience navigating org structure changes - splitting a team, forming one, or consolidating scattered work
Our Stack
  • Linear
  • AI tooling (Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor)
  • Amplitude
  • Notion
  • Slack
The Hiring Process
  • Stage 1: Recruiter Screen (30min) Adrienne
  • Stage 2: Hiring Manager Screen (30min) Riyadh
  • Stage 3: Onsite Panel
  • Stage 5: Founders Chat

As an AI company, we're a huge believer in the value of AI tools. That being said, the interview process is intended as a conversation - we want to get to know you and your experience. Please refrain from using AI tools during all Weekend interviews unless otherwise specified.
What's in it for You
  • Your medical, dental, and vision insurance is 100% covered by Weekend, for yourself and all dependents and we match 401k!
  • We offer a flexible, hybrid work-from-home and in-office work model.
  • We offer unlimited paid time off (enforced 2-week minimum), 16 paid holidays, 40 hours of bereavement leave, and unlimited sick days.
  • Our generous parental leave policy includes 24 weeks at 100% pay for birthing parents and 12 weeks at 100% pay for non-birthing parents.
  • We offer visa support for eligible candidates, making relocating for the job smoother and more streamlined.
  • A full breakdown of our benefits is here!

For Pay Transparency: The final offer amount may depend on experience, education, skills, and location. Base pay is one part of the total package that is provided to compensate and recognize employees for their work.
Weekend is committed to the full inclusion of all qualified individuals. As part of this commitment, Weekend will ensure that persons are provided reasonable accommodations throughout the hiring process. If any reasonable accommodation is needed, please reach out to your hiring contact.
