Job Summary/Basic Functions

The University of Mary Washington has an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Night & Weekend Program Assistant. The primary responsibilities of the Program Assistant are to oversee the planning and implementation of many night and weekend programs and initiatives that SAE sponsors and/or supports. This role requires the Program Assistant to be available to work during regular office hours and to be on-site for programming during evening and weekend hours. The Program Assistant is required to live in UMW provided housing due to the late-night and weekend programming requirements, as well as to serve as a member of the University's crisis response team through a rotating on-call schedule.

Required KSAs/Competencies/Qualifications

  • Knowledge of general student involvement policies.
  • Ability to work during regular office hours (8:00AM-5:00PM).
  • Ability to be on-site for programming during evening and weekend hours.
  • Candidates are expected to comply with all required University and program application processes.

Required Experience:

  • Prior event planning experience.
  • Experience in student event programming.
  • Experience in mentoring or advising members of a campus student community.

 

Required Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in appropriate area of specialization.

Required Licensure:

  • Must possess a valid Driver's License to operate a University/state owned or leased vehicle.

Additional Considerations:

EXPERIENCE

  • Supervisory experience with campus peers.
  • Website and social media management.
  • Event/program management.
  • Experience with/involvement in student leadership positions
