Schmidt Associates is a multi-state A/E Firm that has an opportunity for a highly motivated, qualified professional to build Business Development in our Louisville location. The ideal person would be responsible for identifying potential work and developing relationships between our Principals and those prospects. The position requires a strong drive to seek out work and create an accurate log of activities. They must be personable and have excellent knowledge of the market, including prospects and competitors.
The position requires high competency in client service, strategic thinking, and general knowledge of facility design needs. Strong skills in marketing and entrepreneurial leadership are necessary. This person will have an aptitude for securing new clients and maintaining and deepening existing client relationships.
Responsibilities:
โ€ข Participates in developing and reaching the strategic goals within the Healthcare, K -12 and/or Higher Education Market sectors
โ€ข Be able to identify trends in the marketplace
โ€ข Be able to act on those trends (translate trends into offerings)
โ€ข Attends appropriate trade shows to generate leads and increase firm awareness
โ€ข Attends appropriate SAI entertainment events to host clients and prospects
โ€ข Develops a target set of prospects within a market
โ€ข Creates relationship with Owners before project develops
โ€ข Additional responsibilities associated with a Business Development role
Experience/Education:
โ€ข Professional Degree
โ€ข Experience in healthcare and/or higher education
โ€ข 5-8 years of Business Development
โ€ข Experience in an AE or Construction Firm preferred
