Description

Bauer Foundation Corp. (BFC) is the U.S. subsidiary of the worldwide Bauer Group, a leading foundation contractor and designer of advanced foundation equipment. BFC executes complex excavation pits, ground improvement, deep foundations, and vertical seals for industrial, commercial, residential, and governmental projects across the United States.


We are seeking a Business Development Representative to support growth of BAUERโ€™s specialty geotechnical and deep foundation services nationwide. This entry-level role is ideal for an early-career civil or geotechnical engineer with strong communication skills who wants to combine technical understanding with client-facing business development.


Business Development Representative

Reports to: Business Development Manager
Position: Full time
Schedule: 8 AM to 5 PM Monday โ€“ Friday (On-site)

Requirements:

The Business Development Representative supports market sector leaders in pursuing new work and implementing BAUERโ€™s business development strategies in defined markets and regions. Responsibilities include market research, lead generation, pre-win strategy support, and assisting with proposals and client-facing activities to help secure major heavy civil and infrastructure projects.


Supervisory Responsibilities:

None


Duties/Responsibilities:

ยท Assist in developing and executing pre-win strategies on targeted projects and programs.

ยท Support relationship management with key clients and partners, including scheduling and documenting meetings with owners, GCs/CMs, EPCs, and designers.

ยท Conduct basic market and client research to identify and qualify new opportunities for diaphragm walls, cutoff walls, drilled shafts, soil mixing, jet grouting, and related methods.

ยท Support the Business Development Manager with public relations and industry presence, including conferences, trade shows, and association events; track and follow up on all action items.

ยท Assist in RFQ/RFP responses, including assembling project profiles, method narratives, and differentiators aligned with BAUERโ€™s capabilities.

ยท Maintain accurate records of leads, opportunities, and meetings in BAUERโ€™s CRM and participate in preparing regular pipeline and activity reports.


Requirements


Required Skills/Abilities:

ยท Foundational understanding of deep foundations and geotechnical methods or strong willingness to learn.

ยท Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts clearly and prepare concise marketing/technical materials.

ยท Comfortable engaging with clients and partners in person, by phone, and at industry events.

ยท Ability to review RFQs/RFPs and owner requirements, with guidance from senior staff.

ยท Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple concurrent opportunities and deadlines.

ยท Proficiency with Microsoft Office and CRM tools; ability to learn online client and vendor portals.

ยท Valid driverโ€™s license and ability to travel as required.


Education and Experience:

  • Bachelorโ€™s degree in civil engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, Construction Management, or related field required.
  • 1โ€“4 years of experience in construction-related business development, marketing, or project roles preferred; internships and co-op experience in heavy civil, geotechnical, or specialty foundations are highly valued

Physical Requirements:

ยท Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.

ยท Ability to visit active construction sites and navigate uneven terrain.

ยท Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
