Summary

A growing design-build contractor is seeking an Assistant Superintendent to support ground-up multifamily infill projects across San Diego. The company focuses on urban housing developments, including podium and infill projects in tight, high-density environments.

This role is ideal for someone early in their field career who has multifamily experience and wants to grow into a lead Superintendent role while gaining hands-on exposure to ground-up construction.


Key Responsibilities
  • Support the Superintendent with daily field operations on multifamily projects

  • Assist with scheduling, site coordination, and trade sequencing

  • Help manage subcontractors, deliveries, and site logistics

  • Participate in daily huddles and weekly coordination meetings

  • Assist with maintaining jobsite safety, cleanliness, and organization

  • Review drawings and scopes to support upcoming work

  • Track inspections, punch list items, and project progress

  • Coordinate materials and assist with site planning in tight urban environments

  • Provide daily reports, photos, and updates to the project team


Requirements
  • 2–5 years of experience in construction, preferably as an Assistant Superintendent or Foreman

  • Experience on ground-up multifamily projects preferred

  • Exposure to infill or podium construction is a plus

  • Basic understanding of scheduling, sequencing, and subcontractor coordination

  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings

  • Strong work ethic and willingness to learn and grow in the field

  • Good communication and organizational skills
