Assistant Superintendent - Multifamily Construction
Location: The Heights at Inverness / Birmingham, AL

Stoa Group is hiring an Assistant Superintendent to support the successful execution of large-scale, ground-up multifamily communities.
This isn't a general labor or assistant role. You'll own critical phases of construction, work alongside experienced field leaders, and develop the skills needed to become a Superintendent.

What You'll Do
As an Assistant Superintendent, you'll be responsible for the successful execution of assigned phases of construction, with primary ownership from drywall through turnover, including exterior painting and landscaping.
You'll work closely with the Superintendent and Lead Superintendent to ensure every building is delivered safely, on schedule, and to Stoa's quality standards.
Your responsibilities include:
Safety
  • Promote and enforce safe work practices throughout assigned work areas.
  • Help maintain a clean, organized, and professional jobsite.

Quality
  • Own quality throughout assigned construction phases.
  • Complete Procore phase inspections.
  • Create, coordinate, and close observations in Procore.
  • Verify work meets plans, specifications, and Stoa quality standards.
  • Understand and reference drawings, specifications, submittals, and scopes of work.

Schedule Execution
  • Execute scheduled work within assigned buildings.
  • Coordinate finishing trades to keep projects moving.
  • Identify potential delays and communicate solutions early.

Field Coordination
  • Coordinate subcontractors during assigned phases.
  • Receive and organize materials and deliveries.
  • Manage site logistics and hired labor as needed.
  • Assist in maintaining daily production goals.

Documentation
  • Maintain accurate daily logs.
  • Document deliveries, manpower, jobsite progress, and project activities in Procore.

What We're Looking For
  • 2+ years of experience in multifamily, commercial, or residential construction
  • Experience coordinating subcontractors and jobsite activities
  • Ability to read construction drawings and specifications
  • Working knowledge of OSHA safety practices
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • Experience with Procore or similar construction software preferred
  • Self-motivated with a strong sense of ownership and accountability
  • Willingness to travel to projects within the Gulf Coast Region
