Job description

Job Description DEFINITION Under the direction of the City Manager, assist the City Manager in assigned functions of management, administrative and clerical functions undertaken by the Office of the City Manager. Volunteers will be assigned duties based on their areas of interest. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS - Essential and other important responsibilities and duties may include, but are not limited to, the following: Provides administrative, technical and clerical support for the City.

Prepares correspondence; takes dictation and transcribes letters and memos; performs routine research and gathers data to compile or complete reports. Assists the City Manager with Code Enforcement efforts. Assists the City Manager with Economic Development efforts.

Assists in coordinating City events. Assists the City Manager with disseminating information to the public. Performs other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS Education: No educational requirement. Experience: No experience required. Licenses: No license requirement.

Other: Must be at least fourteen (14) years of age. Must commit to volunteering at least ten (10) hours per month. Must maintain a positive attitude and represent the City of Lemoore in a positive manner.

Must submit Livescan fingerprints. Knowledge of: Modern office methods, practices and procedures is desirable. Ability to: Perform clerical work; understand the organization and operation of the City and outside agencies; effectively prioritize and manage time; work independently; meet deadlines; keep organized; follow oral and written direction; operate standard office equipment; develop effective working relationships with the City Manager; peers and the public; and be punctual.

WORKING CONDITIONS Environmental Conditions: Office environment; exposure to computer screens. Physical Conditions: Essential functions may require maintaining physical condition necessary for sitting, standing or walking for prolonged periods of time; moderate or light lifting.
